Sometimes the most obvious of things goes straight over my head.

    But I need to know.

With noise cancelling, wireless headphones, what is the source of the media to which you are listening?

Any Bluetooth enabled audio player like an iPod, phone, computer, etc.

It's just like any other Bluetooth speaker.

All the usual suspects that are bluetooth. That of course rules out listening the airline provided entertainment when flying.

We have noise cancelling for travel, but they are wired.

I own the Bose Quite Comfort 3 Headphones and I will not fly anywhere without them.
Great Headphones! I wear them during the entire flight. Not just for Music and Movies.
Battery is supposed to last 25 hours. Great for resting in silence! Very little Engine noise.
I Travel with an iPad & iPhone for Entertainment.

Same here, don't use any wireless headsets.

Dan has had a wired set of Bose noise cancelling headphones for airplane travel for a long time. He recently got a wireless pair that he uses around the house when doing yard work and, I suspect, for when he wants a wife-free zone. :wink2:

I borrowed the wired ones for our last flight to Vegas. I get a headache from flying, which I always assumed was from the pressurized cabin. On that trip, I landed, and realized I had no headache. Of course, one trip does not a scientific study make, but I think it's that plane noise that just eats my brain. This time I had some Sinatra and a book and felt great. I will borrow them again on my next flight and see what happens.

I hope Santa is a VMBer, Breeze.

I recently bought some buds called AirBuds. They are comfortable as any bud I've ever used and block out a ton of noise. They are wired, but for travel i don't mind one less charger to bring.

I did some browsing on some flyer/travel forums and the name kept coming up.

Another good thing is they are <$40.

I have a set of the Beats wireless studio headphones http://www.beatsbydre.com/headphones/beats-studio-wireless.html

They have noise canceling and are bluetooth to my phone, but they also come with a wire so you can hook them up to a standard headphone jack if you want. I love them and wouldn't fly without them.

I use these - Audio Technica ATH-ANC23 ear buds.

If the battery craps out they still work. This is a steal right now, $45 for these. They use 1 AAA.

Sonia, I use ear protection whenever I fly, all the time. The noise is a killer! It adds so much stress, to me anyway.

I use foam earplugs, or my ear buds. I can sleep with them in and no music playing too.

Yeah, even if I'm not listening to music, I use my noise cancelling headphones. They really help cut down on that droning noise of the plane as well as chatter around you.

I have a pair of Bose QC 25 that I use at work and for travel. I used to have the QC 15's, but the new model has some decent improvements.

    Jaybird Bluebuds X.

Awesome pair of noise canceling bluetooth headphones. Sound is amazing especially pairing with an iphone/ipod touch or any bluetooth player with an equalizer. Doesn't fall off your ear and very comfortable because it is made for working out and exercising. I think now they came out with the X2. So if you can find it the original X is at a great discount.

If this doesn't convince you I don't know what will! LOL.

I use Bose headphones. Not only do they cut the engine noise down but the best part is the person next to you KNOWS you don't want to talk to them.:Þ

I have the same headphones. I really enjoy them. But the issue I'm getting now is the ear pads are flaking away. But they still sound great and have held together otherwise for the past 3 years.
