    My Trip Report

It’s finally here. The other trip to Vegas I look forward to all year (other one is NCAA Tourney). Baseball playoffs, College Football, & the NFL. I got lucky this year and Nick Swardson is playing the Mirage and it’s his birthday on Friday night and another pal Deepak Sethi is playing Planet Hollywood Saturday night. I get to see to friends perform in Vegas over a weekend. Super cool.

I’ve got a few Myvegas rewards to redeem. I have to say MGM, it was a great idea when it started, but with the rewards either being taken off the board or limiting them to one use it’s become a useless venture for me. But I’ll take some free food this weekend to free up the comp line for other stuff.

Special thanks to FirstKill who got me to join M Resort players club. I have a tiny amount of free play to redeem and they’re going to buy me a buffet this weekend. There is also a slot tourney I can participate in and I get all this and don’t even have to stay there. Brilliant.

So I’ve got the bankroll in my pocket and will be doing my normal early morning drive across the desert. NYNY is so booked all the time that my host suggested I book Wed night as well, so when I arrive before 10 am I can hit my room right away instead of having to wait until after 2 for them to clean the rooms. This will generate an extra day vs my trip average, but I thought I’d try it once and see how it goes. I doubt it will affect my offers too much, but I guess we’ll see. Hey, I just need a couple hand pays and some sporting luck and it won’t be a problem.

So a few beers at the Bean tonight watching the Cubs smash up the Las Piratas and then an early morning drive followed by hand pays and chip porn. Easy Peasy!!

Good luck Stevie. How long are you in town for?

I agree on MyVegas, I am sitting ok 300k LP's or whatever and I do not know what to spend em on. I got in on it late in the game, like 13 months ago, at the point in was already on the downswing.

Go Thursday and drive back Monday. Only Myvegas ones I use are free play and buffets. But with this trip I'll have exhausted pretty much everything. I lie. I have seen Ka & Chris Angel for free. So maybe I'm short selling as show tix may still have value. Sorry Myvegas.

Thanks FK. I'm going to go to M Saturday & Sunday for slot tourney. First time they gave me $200 in FP. This time it's $25 and I got my next flier and it's only $20. Maybe I should give them some play instead of use FP, eat for free and run out the door. Lol

Maybe we will run into each other. I will not be on the strip until Sunday sometime.

I gave my Shark Reef tickets away last time I redeemed via myvegas.

I used the Tender Credit though at that was worth it and the Fantasy free ticket. I usually do not stay at MGM props so most of em are out for me.

I'll still be around. Probably a lot worse for wear by that point of the weekend, but that's the point. Right Jordan?

Sounds awesome! Good luck! What's on tap for Nick's birthday? (Without revealing stalkerazzi-type details.)

I saw Nick Swardson in Minneapolis years ago even before his Reno 911 cameos. I would rather bash myself in the head than see him perform again. Just don't find him funny. Of course I can't stand Seinfeld either, so I know I'm in the minority. Enjoy the rest of the trip though!

Unsure at the moment. I'm bringing a few bottles to suite before performance to put on ice as probably head there after and see how it goes.

Thursday to Monday is, in my opinion, the only way to drive from and to SoCal and stay sane.

Drunk from Cub Victory . So glad I can back us this weekend. Was drinking with Nick and he's doing show with Judd Apatow tomorrow. And one of the performers might open for him in Vegas.

Hey Stevie, sorry I missed this weekend as I know you are going to have a blast! Looking forward to you having several hand pays and lots of rolls at the craps tables where you always do pretty damn well. Drive safe and have fun. Win enough for a new car! Gotta love them Cubbies!

Which Bean do you usually go to Stevie? Used to go to the Burbank one all of the time. Also, I have seen Nick a couple of times and Appatow once, them together would def be a show not to miss. Good luck this weekend sir!

Leaving for Chicago soon to visit g/f's parents for a bit. Have an opportunity to see a Cards/Cubs playoff game at Wrigley. But cheapest tix are $280/ea on StubHub. I bought 2011 World Series tickets (Game 1) at Busch for less than that. :( So no thanks. Cubs WS tickets are currently $2300+...Ouch. "Back to the Future" may actually come true??? That line tonight was still terrible even though I thought the Cubs would win, imo. Will be a fun series. And if the Cards lose, being a terrible Cards fan, I'll root for the Cubs to win the pennant at least. As for WS, I'll be torn, all the AL teams haven't won in "forever" either. The Cards are the only team left that has won this century...crazy.
