As a result of my frustration with Cosmo that I wrote about in my recent TR, I have changed my plans for my upcoming trip next week to Mandalay Bay. I haven't stayed at Mandalay since summer of last year. There have obviously been changes (Delano) so I thought I would ask other VMBers if there is any new stuff or new tweaks at the resort I should definitely check out?

For me, its a quick solo trip. I don't want to spend the entire trip just going between my suite, the high limit elevator, and the blackjack tables. So I already have a few other diversions in mind, but if anyone has stayed there this year has any new suggestions, I am all ears. Thanks

I love MB myself. Are you staying on he MB side or delano? I will say, stay away from the delano ph if thats where you are staying. The MB side has some beautiful suites that are not advertised or shown. As you know, they have great restaurants and the best show in vegas imho.

There isnt really anything new there since your last trip besides the delano.

Please say hello to Ruth, one of my favorite dealers in the high limit room.

The homemade jam at Dellas' Kitchen on Delano side is why I eat breakfast there. Never was a Jam person, but I've stopped going elsewhere for breaky. Never would I pile a load onto toast. But now I do...I can't feel my face when I'm with you, but I love it, yeah I love it. (sorry, something about Weeknd)..But agree with Bronco,,not much else has changed? I do stay there, as I prefer the less populated elevators. And the walk of shame from the Casino to your room if you've had a bad night gives me a moment to reflect on how stupid I was to not leave sooner. Always give a dance while walking past MJOne.

I am staying on the MB side. My host gives me the giant suite right beside the elevator, with the apartment sized bathroom and tub you can swim laps in.

Was hoping there was more new stuff since last summer, but oh well. Is Ruth the older lady with the red hair that works the overnight shift?

Thanks. I try to stick to the hidden high limit elevator because that main elevator bank can turn into a crowded nightmare in the evenings.

Nothing really new there besides some remodeling of the rooms and suites. Yes, Ruth is older with short hair but I wouldn't say red hair unless she changed it. Her shift is usually the prime time evening hours and also deals pai gow in the lotus room.

I think i know Ruth. She dealt pai gow to us two trips ago. Very fun time even though I think I dropped a grand.

Good luck UK! You deserve a 6 figure win

Thanks! That would be nice, but I am hoping I don't risk that much!! Any win is good, but I have my sights set a bit lower than six figures (although MB was the site of my first ever six figure trip).

I will keep an eye out for Ruth. if she works the high limit, I will probably meet her, since that room always seems dead during the week

It was busier in the casino than normal...which was a good thing.

Everything else is still... the same.

    Good Luck UK!!!

Agreed. Is the crowd still mostly convention-goers?

    Surprisingly....it wasn't.

We were there from Thursday to Tuesday morning. It was busy on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The other two days tapered off, when the convention goers came in.

I can't speak for the HL tables, but during my visit last month, the rules for DD on the main floor were very inconsistent. One shift would say, "no double after split," while another shift would say, "of course you can double after split." They were also flip-flopping on the ratings for my main game, UTH. MB is the only mlife casino that is ALWAYS inconsistent with rules and ratings...at least to me. Again, this is all on the main floor, so I am sure the HL is consistent. Other than that, I still have a great time there! One day I will book a win there...0-4 at MB so far.

as many on here have said Play where you win. I'm 0-4 at Caesar's so not going back. Ok, I"m going to get my FP and leaving. I'm also avoiding all MLIFE casinos at this time.

One thing i have been doing before I start to play blackjack is asked what the rules are. Double after splits, how many splits I can have, ETC.

This way there is no mis-understanding. Plus i ask the PIT manager not just the dealer.

Lol...I'm going to MB tomorrow just to play my freeplay...have $400 from the slot tourney last month.

At MB, it is the Pit Bosses, on the main floor, who give different rules/ratings.

Buy a ticket and come out!

I just got back from Delano. I really liked it. The casino floor was also much busier than I remember seeing it in the past. I had a blast!
