    My Trip Report

Is that hangover wearing off, everyone? Are you starting to remember what happened last weekend at the big VMB party? Are you wives starting to forgive you? Are the stains out of your good shirt? Did the gin joints restock the Jordan yet? Have the name changes ended? I'm flying out tonight to see if there is any Vegas left to love.

A couple of weeks ago the missus Geotwink and I visited Wind Cave National Park and Mount Rushmore, and drove past a bunch of buffalo within spitting distance. I did what any good VMBer would do...hopped out of the car, took a picture, and yelled, "BUFFALO!!!"

    image.jpeg
Armed with my good karma, we stopped in Deadwood to try our hand at the casinos there. Playing $2 a spin, I hit a quick Buffalo bonus and won a whopping $8. F to the Y, Buffalo!

Still wanting to accentuate my bankroll, I decided to hit the [STRIKE]cardboard cocaine[/STRIKE] pull tabs this week at the local VFW. The daughters of the American Revolution were there looking to find skin boats to take to tuna town. I was able to avoid the blue hairs just well enough to come up with a few good hits.

Geotwink is on a camping trip with the gals in the forests of northern Minnesota this weekend, so I gave her a back end comp before she left yesterday. Now it's time for my first solo trip to the holy land.

It has to start somewhere. It has to start sometime. What better place than here? What better time than now? Lights out! Guerrilla Trip Report!!

I'm a winner on these at my local American Legion, seems like every time I play I win. Plus they just raised prices, bottled beer or well drinks to $2, cheap night out.

Pull tabs are big in this area, especially at VFW's and American Legions, but most bars carry them as well. The bar rents out space to youth hockey, firefighters, or some other entity. Most pull tab "boxes" contain about 3000 tickets and have about 80% payback. Most boxes the tabs are $1 apiece with winners ranging from $1 up to $200. Some boxes are $2 or even $5 boxes. Price goes up. Top winners are more as well. Most places will mark off winners of $50 and above so you can gauge the odds and decide if a box is worth dumping money into. But it's easy to toss $200 into a box $20 at a time and win nothing and then have some dickcheese throw $10 and take the big winner you were chasing.

80%??? Are you sure about that? I thought those pieces of shit were typically about 60% if you would just buy the entire box, which is close to the scratchoff percentage. Last pull tab I've bought (~5th straight loser lifetime) was at Lambert's Cafe in Sikeston, MO on the way to (or from) Tunica. They are known for throwing "Hot Rolls" at you.

Good luck! Lots of pics of wins! And tell me any snooty beers you drink!

Heard someone was sueing them because they got hit with a throwed roll. Never been to MO but there's randomly one in Alabama between the Orange Beach and I-10.

Yep...I don't think the suit has been resolved. I would like to know how it happened...it must have been a dinner roll with a mission. Those employees are pretty damn accurate too. And yeah, three locations, two in MO and one in AL. Pretty random.

Most 3200 ticket boxes have around $2400-2500 worth of winners. Some of the more popular $2 boxes advertise 85% payback--they have lots of winners like $12 and $26.

Just touched down. Plane left about 20 mins late, made it up in the air, then had to sit on the runway for 10 more waiting for the gate to clear.

Two Aces and then switch games to either 8/5 DDB (96.79%) or 7/5 TB+ (97.67%) ASAP. I think you know which one I would pick with the numbers. :evillaugh Sorry I didn't respond sooner, but I wanted to prove to another poster that playing nearly flawless while being drunk is possible. He thought his wife would lose 1.5% from errors when drunk at 9/6 JoB. I lost 0.02 credits in 348 hands/16 minutes of 9/6 JoB on my training software after drinking for 8 hours. I sorta got lucky I didn't actually make an error that mattered though...lol

Slots got the best of me tonight, but one hot shooter at the craps table kept me only down about $200. Almost 24 hours awake, gotta hit the sack.

I live in North Dakota, and charitable gaming is huge in my state at most bars. We have bj ($25 max bet), pinwheel (essentially roulette with five zero's, $20 max bet), and pull tabs. I play a ton of pull tabs, and can confirm the payback is ~80%, not 60%. I really do love pull tabs, because as was mentioned, you can see the jar of pull tabs and see how many winners are left. So it's pretty easy to visualize the jar and see if the odds are in your favor.

Everyone is better off not knowing what the hell those things are. I won $500 on one in 2001 and have not played since!

Bald head? Check. Blown out knee? Check. I could be Daunte Culpepper. 5 hour nap and let's get back to it. Gonna grab some food and hit the book for Sunday foosball, Bobby Boucher. After the early games are done, I need to switch rooms as I showed up late last night and got stuck with a smoking room at Linq.
