VT Posted an interesting and thoughtful article about the juggling of spaces and possible sale
of Ferrari dealership to support a new Wynn pedestrian entrance to alon.

A reminder to new readers, alon is the new hotel being built on the old Frontier space which Elaine Wynn's nephew and former Wynn executive is connected to.
The article brings up some interesting design points about Wynn and I think could be pretty valid. I wondered what The Steve's plan for connecting
Wynn to the new north strip development going on would be.

    Read about it here:

    Interesting speculation.

Or it could just be that the ferrari dealership is not doing so hot nor the draw they want anymore, and the current site of the poker room makes more sense for a newly planned retail/restaurant/other than the society cafe thing.

I mean, they haven't even broken ground on Alon yet, have they?

They have done some pre-site clearing and zoning / preliminary filings with the county, so I would say its firmly in motion. The last major article on the building was when plans were filed June 26th. I have not bothered to look at the
planning commision website to see if / what permits may have been pulled so far. http://vegasinc.com/business/real-estate/2015/jun/26/vision-alon-las-vegas-resort-former-new-frontier-s/

Ok, so that article says 2018.

Does it really make sense for Wynn to make moves that they can pull off in weeks/months to accomodate a bridge to a place that won't open for 3 years IF it stays on schedule?

Good question, like the Steve says their planning goes out years. But yeah I don't imagine he will take income producing space and turn it into non income producing space for a project not quite ready to open.
So it has about as much legs as any other rumor.

I've heard prices on domestic dealerships in po-dunk Pennsylvania, so I can't imagine what a Ferrari dealership is worth in Vegas. So maybe Steve is just pulling some cash out while he has a chance.

The story is now on TMZ

The world famous Penske Wynn Ferrari showroom at The Wynn in Las Vegas needs shelter, because they're getting evicted.

Our Wynn sources say the hotel mogul has been frustrated that he's not making the best use of the 10,000 square foot space inhabited by the high-end dealership. In other words, Wynn can make a killing renting to someone else.

So the dealership has till the end of the year to skedaddle.

Based on some of the stuff that came out of Elaine Wynn Vs the Wynn board, I would never think that Wynn would ever do anything mutually beneficial for Alon.

Think about what the Steve has to gain. He has a thriving club business and dinning. It's not his hotel guests filling up those places every day. I saw the throngs coming in from parking garage on Labor Day.

If Resorts World is a hit, Steve might need the bridge more than Alon does, as his resort settles into middle age.

I also read yesterday the poker room will be closing (temporarily I hope) due to the construction of the pedestrian bridge as well. Not sure on the time table yet.

Can a poker player explain to me, why is it important that a poker room be near the parking garage? Besides Wynn and Aria, I cannot think of any poker rooms that are next to the parking garage

Presumably because they get many players who are locals and/or pros, drive there and are not staying the night or walking the strip. Doesn't seem that important, but demographically they likely get more drive-in players than other games.

I would think that anything that facilitates additional pedestrian access to Wynn would be to Steve's benefit, especially since Alon will definitely cater to similar clientel as far as gaming goes.
RW to a certain degree also I imagine.
I would love to see Pascal and Packer come out with ample s17 and even 10X odds. Probably not going to happen, but one can hope. Dream?

My thoughts exactly. I'm giving Alon a 50/50 chance at best to open on schedule. It reminds me of that Crown tower that never opened.

I read that the Ferrari is going to close very soon. But nothing about the bridge.

Wynn is closing Society Cafe' and combining it with a re-done (to be renamed?) Botero. If you know W/E you can see how Wynn poker, Ferrari and Encore SC are in the same area.
What the intentions are will be revealed sooner or later.

I don't think it's for the bridge cross the Strip.
Such a project can't be done secretly. The government has to hold public hearing many months ahead.
