I am going to MGM next week and would enjoy a few free craft beers while playing. What's my best option? I am generally a slots player but will partake in a craps session if the table seems lively!

I would like to know too. Best beer on the casino floor I've seen at Mlife is Lagunitas at MB.

    MLife isn't the greatest overall.

MB may be your best bet within MLife. They offer Lagunitas IPA on the floor and Nikasi Oatis at Mizuya Lounge.

Luxor has Lagunitas as well at Aurora Bar.

MGM has Dogfish 60 Min. IPA at Whiskey Down.

Not sure about the rest of MLife.

Cosmo has Sculpin at Bond and Queue Bar. Maximus IPA at Chandelier Bar.

    Venetian has Sculpin.

Most of CET has Lagunitas IPA at bars.

Bugsy Bar at Flamingo has Happy Camper IPA.

Harrah's main bar has 60 min. and some others.

Catalyst Bar at Linq has Dogfish Head 90 min. and Happy Camper.

and most importantly...TAG Lounge has roughly 200 beers compable, and I believe you can get them comped by playing bubble craps. Or the bartops have selected slots available if you don't want to play VP/Keno.

Aria had Firestone Pivo on the floor last month. The VP bar by the sports book had an IPA from Oregon, I don't remember the name, but it was very good. Lift Bar had Goose Island Honkers Ale and 312.

Does Aria still do their "own" beer? (I thought I read something to that effect a few years ago.) Is it anything worth drinking or just something from InBev/MillerCoors with a fancy label?

Wow Mandalay Bay has Rogue and Fat Tire on their comp list? As far as the common beers go that's pretty impressive for a casino comp.

Mgm and cosmo has fat tire too. New Belgium isn't that crafty anymore. I remember dragging it across the Mississippi River until 2006 though. [emoji5]

Rogue definitely still crafty and overpriced too, imo.

I think it's still there. A recent TR mentioned it was from Sin City Brew Co. I never got around to trying it. Sin City IPA isn't bad, the rest of their stuff, meh.

Hey Tringlomane yeah I'm not that impressed by New Belgium stuff these days either. I've gotten spoiled on some of the local Texas breweries like Revolver. I'm also planning to stop by the Michael Mina's Pub 1842 as I have yet to have Weihenstephaner Hef on tap and they have it!

I had it at 550 my last trip, it is not bad, but nothing to right home about either.

Being as Sarah at Mandalay is the person who got me to take my Cicerone certification and was the first female Master Cicerone in the nation I have to give it to MB, Sarah has made some big changes at MB in her tenure as F&B director and the comp beers are one of my favorites to say the least. Most places consider Heineken or at best Sierra Nevada a good comp beer, but not good old Sarah when she told m,e she was making Lagunitas the comp IPA I was one happy camper. One of her future endeavors is to put a first class beer garden on the floor area, the only issue is the where to put it part.

That's great news Bubba. I'm really looking forward to higher quality beer taking focus on the strip as it is an area that I feel has been ignored quite a bit in Vegas.

Much agreed, very much agreed, I was so psyched when I hear they were putting a Public House in Luxor only to have my hopes dashed by a half ass effort with even worse service there, hopefully Sarah can get the beer garden she wants to counter that disappointment at the pyramid. Franklin in Delano has a great and rotating selection of Craft including selections like Tricerahops this summer and standards like Dogfish 90, Brassiere Saint James Daily Wage and Sierra Nevadas Oliva I am working with her to get my local Roughtails DIPA and American Strong Ale in there soon. The best part I find is that while wine has always been looked upon as the go to beverage restaurants like Bardot which Mina teamed with Stillwater to produce Hors D'Age available only there, Bouchon with a great selection and Aureole have taken beer to heart, I have long felt beer the superior beverage to wine to match with dishes myself as there are so many styles and individual variations among styles.

I don't really drink much beer but I recall some obscure ones being comped at the Rio. Not a craft (?) but I was possibly comped a draft Guinness at the bar right outside of Five/Fifty - I just walked off once I was done playing vp LOL so I assume it was a comp. Very good and useful thread. If I was more organized, I would revive the annual "happy hours on the strip" thread and start a "comped craft beers" thread/sticky. Any takers?

Ladies getaway, somewhere on the strip with a pool :)
