Can anybody give me some information about this place, we are looking for a nice steak dinner for 2 with a nice ambience.

I have heard that they push too many tables near each other that it feels like you are dining with the people beside you, is this really true?

Is there anyway around that for a party of 2? What did you order from the menu and how was the overall experience?

Honestly, it was hard to select this place, originally we had considered ramsays, but found people like delmonicos better, but craftsteak seemed better than both.

    Thanks for the insight.

Request a booth and tell them it's special occasion. Maybe the 20 I tipped the front Hostess didn't hurt, but had a great time..
    Save room for dessert.

It's not like NYC but the 2 tops are fairly close together.

No worse than any other high end place.

    It's not Olive Garden.

Yes I enjoy Craft once most every visit.

Mario, the som is really helpful if you want something special.

    Try the A5 sampler dinner.

I like Heritage Steak at Mirage, it's a lot less crowded then Craft Steak. Both are Colicchio's places so the steak quality is identical. At least that's what the manager said. Craft steak is a great modern steakhouse. i just like that Heritage Steak is less crowded. I've never had anyone at a table next to us. Full disclosure I only get NY Strip or Fillet and Fries and wife gets potato purée so we aren't well versed in the subtleties of each place. I just like Collichio's steaks either at craft or heritage, best USDA Prime steaks on the strip in my opinion.

I was pretty disappointed with Craftsteak. My steak was average at best, and the potatoes tasted funny.

Why should there be consensus? We have folks who travel by limo and by bus. We have folks who drop multiple thousands over dinner and who seek out McDonald's. I don't know that there are a lot of places in travel where you will find consensus, and the most basic and threadbare accommodation will have adherents and a place that serves up USDA Prime has detractors. Now you're essentially assured a better meal at one of these high-end steakeries than Outback, but not all are uniformly praised (or damned). Then again, wtf is "better" in any of this? Anyway, with your stated budget for this meal you probably don't want to be looking at steaks that start at 50, 60 bucks a la carte.

Craftsteak is a solid place and the rolls they give you are some of the best you'll find. I was solo so I sat at the bar and didn't have to worry about the spacing of the tables. As for what I ate:

    Lobster Bisque
    Ribeye
    Asparagus

    All were very good.

Charlie Palmer Steak, thanks for this advice, will have to check it out.

Have you also been to the many other places too, like delmonicos?

Actually SW is starting to win me over. I think the Bellagio has lost quite a bit of its luster.

1st trip. 32 oz porthouse for 2. Thought it was ok. Lacked flavor. Had quail to start. That was awesome. Fingerling rosemary potaoes meh. Rolls awesome of course. was with froend and quite drunk so take that into consideration. 2nd trip. Solo at bar. Lobster salad to start. very good. Then A5 strip. Pretty fantastic but quite different as it kinda melts and no chew factor. Quite understand why it costs what it does. Not for everyone as it is so different from what we know as steak. Rolls awesome again. Glass of wine fantastic. Don't remember but it was their special wine by the glass program. Both meals comped. Id I had to pay for A5 I would not. Every steakhouse will have pluses and minuses. Depends what you like and what you want to try and price point.
