Cosmo Room Noise?

I have a Terrace Suite @ Cosmo booked for my October 30 - November 3 trip. And while I've booked Cosmo a few times to get the freeplay associated with the offer and/or have a mid-strip crash pad, this will be my first time staying there without a net, so to speak.

I remember a thread a few years back where the poster said that the noise from the club kept him up at night and the noise from the pool party prevented him from napping the next day. Noise doesn't usually bother me much in Vegas - I'm up late and I do enjoy my cocktails. And I can't nap so the day club isn't a concern. But I am considering taking an early flight back home leaving on Tuesday morning and I know Marquee will be open Monday night. It would be nice to get a few hours of sleep on my last night in town.

    So...

Is a certain tower or side of the hotel any quieter than the other?

Would upgrading or downgrading from a Terrace Suite give me a better chance at getting a quiet(er) room?

    Any other tips?

    Thanks!

Get as high as possible floor. And fountain view would face away from the club. That should minimize noise.

Was there Monday night - 63rd floor facing Planet Hollywood - no marque noise but street noise - we found it noisier on this side of the east tower compared to fountain view. But we still slept very well at Cosmo.

I have stayed in both towers, always high floor, and I have honestly never been bothered by noise.....mind you when I finally go to bed it is always in the mid hours of the morning. I have enjoyed listening to the sounds of the city on the terrace and watching the sun come up.

Terrace suite is a very quiet room, they are all located in the west tower with a fountain view. I have stayed on both high and low floors and noise never been an issue. Also noise from Marquee will be of no concern whatsoever when staying in a terrace suite because of the distance to the club.

I've stayed at Cosmo twice, five nights each time in a Terrace Suite, floors 25 and 31..

All of the Terrace Suites are in the center section of the north side of the West Tower, which is set back quite a ways from the Strip.

I think I could hear a little from the club on top of Cromwell, but only when on the terrace. When on the terrace, you can also hear people talking on other terraces.

Once the sliding doors are shut, nada, except for the occasional sirens and the blasts from the Bellagio fountains. I never heard any noise from adjoining rooms either, but that can be luck of the draw. The Cosmo towers may have slightly better walls than an average hotel due to them being built as condos, I don't know.

Because of the way the Terrace Suites are laid out, there's basically no noise from the hallways. It's a really good room.

This is also my exact take on it. We had an east (strip) facing room in the east tower. There was some noticeable street noise but not enough to disturb us at all. Slept like babies. :D

Thanks for the responses guys. And exactly what I was hoping to hear. Looks like I'll be in good shape with my Terrace Suite.

Since this thread has drawn the attention of some Cosmo regulars, I'm going to ask a few other (completely unrelated) questions if you don't mind:

How's the sportsbook for watching games? Is there somewhere else you'd recommend instead? (I'm hoping to be able to keep my eye on the NASCAR race - one of the few sports I've had consistent success betting - in addition to the many NFL games; so the more TVs, the better.)

I seem to remember the Terrace Suite I had a few years ago had a full sized fridge. Am I'm remembering correctly? If so, is there room for my stuff (water, mixers, Secret Pizza leftovers) or is it all minibar?

    Thanks again!

The only thing I do not like about Cosmo is the book. It blows IMO. It is small, out of the way from the casino on second floor by shops and restaurants. The 2 or 3 times I bet horses there for an hour or so no waitress ever came by. During the playoffs for football when I walked by it was slow but book and stage (rip) was packed.

Refrigerator - there's a full sized fridge/freezer unit. The bottom 1/3 or so of the unit is the freezer, and it's empty - you can fill a plastic supermarket bag with ice from the ice machine and keep it in there.

The top part of the fridge - there's 3 or 4 shelves, all of which except the top one serve as the minibar. The top shelf you can use for your own stuff. I think I was able to store a 1/2 gallon jug of milk upright. That top rack is adjustable, so if you need more height and it's not already at it's lowest setting, you can move it. There's some storage in the fridge door also - some of it is minibar but some of it is empty.

I either bring a ton of supermarket stuff with me or have it delivered and I didn't have any problems fitting in everything that I wanted to put in there. 1/2 gallon of milk, 1/2 gallon of juice, a six-pack of waters, all fit with room to spare for other stuff.

    There's a working nuke also.

I think the Cosmo book is terrible, in my opinion. Assuming you are staying at Cosmopolitan, I would recommend either Aria or Bellagio. I prefer Aria. The Aria book is smaller but very comfortable. It is non-smoking if that matters to you. Five50 pizza is right at the entrance. Aria has very good wifi as well.

I did find some better odds on a couple of my wagers last year at the Cosmo book, however. YMMV.

    Thanks for all the info!

Looks like I'm in the right type of room but might want to look elsewhere for sports viewing.

    Stayed there recently
I asked for a room not too far from the elevators, mistake. I was given a terrace suite on the 31st floor overlooking the recently burnt out pool and the Aria. My room was right next to the elevators and all day and night I could hear the machine motors going and the doors opening and closing up untill 5am at least. :grrr:
Didnt really bother me as when I was in the room I was mostly wasted or knackered but snoozing was out of the question during the day. Should have moved but I was only there 3 days and when i mentioned my problem to my host she knocked off the cost of my first night that I had paid for in consideration. :faint:
On top of that they were undertaking some renovations around the Ice machines on my floor and I either had to go down to the 14th floor or up to the 51st floor for Ice. Neither were available from my lifts from memory so if I wanted Ice I had to ring room service. No biggie but there was also drilling noises from there from about 9am each day:rolleyes2:
Enjoyed my stay but would defo recomend staying a little further away from the lifts if you enjoy your peice and quiet

You were not given a terrace suite, it was most likely a terrace studio or a 1 bedroom. As mentioned earlier in this tread OP has a terrace suite booked and all of them faces the B fountains so the problems you experienced won't be an issue for him/her.
