Forget the entree...We know you're going to pick your favorite cut of meat or fish or veggie/vegan treat.

What about the all important apps and sides? And throw a favorite cocktail in there if you must.

Right now, the hub and I are pretty much tied for loving Country Club (Wynn) and Delmonico (Venetian).

Country Club: The house-made truffle potato crisps are addictive. I almost never take a doggy bag after a
meal but this one was an exception. Had to have those crack bites to eat late night in our room. Delicious.
Went very well with the Par for the Course cocktail.

Delmonico: I'd say the twice baked potato (with vermont cheddar and bacon) and the cream corn gratinee have
been our steady orders for sides here. Love the heirloom tomato salad as a start too. The Hemingway Daiquiri cocktail
is friggin' fabulous. Supreme mixologists/bartenders at this place.

We'll be at Delmonico next month for our anniversary dinner. I hear they are celebrating Bourbon appreciation month in September.
All my favorite things in one place. Nice. :licklips:

    Favourite app was at CUT:

Maple Glazed Pork Belly, Asian Spices, Watercress, Sesame-Orange Dressing, Huckleberry Compote

    Favourite side was at Carnevino:

    MASCARPONE & GUANCIALE MASHED POTATOES

Runner ups would be the Gnocchi app at carnevino, and the fingerling potatoes at Delmonico. I also really like the nothing at all at Strip House

I know most of you are Strip people, but I'll throw in downtown, we can't have a meal at Redwood without escargot. At Second St, also downtown, have to have the escargot & scallops appy.

I'm so in for trying escargot, Joe. Haven't done it yet but when I see it on the menu on the right night I'm there.
Same thing for clams casino. Oh, and oysters rockefeller. Old school dishes and cocktails are in my wheelhouse these days.

The mac and cheese at Ramsay Steak is stupid good.

I've also had some creamed spinach at Strip House that made it move. Can't remember if it was a special or not, I think it had truffle and bacon in it.

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot to mention this, possibly the best app I've ever had, the blue cheese souffle at Eiffel Tower Restaurant.

SW - Oysters, wedge, creamed corn and/or spinach

Carnevino - I used to love the duck egg salad but it wasn't on the menu last time I went. I love those mashed potatoes with the egg, mascarpone and guanciale. I've had a couple great pasta dishes too. But pasta takes up valuable real estate in the belly that is better used on the steak!

Craft - Warm frisée salad, puréed spuds and the corn if it's in season

These are the only steakhouses where I have "go to" meals. I love asparagus if it's in season and will try any interesting sounding Brussels sprouts dish (try the crispy Brussels sprouts at Wazuzu!).

Crispy zucchini at Olives\Bellagio is on my top 10. Also on the list is the lump crab\jumbo shrimp app at Strip House. Grilled oysters at Oyster Bar\Harrah's is my "go to".

Speaking of cocktails...a perfect brandy Manhattan is my wheelhouse, but I have yet to find a good one in Vegas and they lack in the "fruit". A good Manhattan has to have olives, brussels sprouts and mushrooms. And there is Zambucca for after dinner. How can you serve that without coffee beans!

Huh. The other half makes a great Manhattan with rye, vermouth, bitters and the old school maraschino cherries. Veggies aren't fruit, Joe. :wink2:

Mon Ami has a very good escargot.......nothing wrong with butter and garlic and their hot baguette to sop it up with.

Since steaks can take a while to cook we will share an appetizer.
Maybe choose something new that we haven't previously tried.

I'm a huge fan of the lollipop chicken wings at Stack at the Mirage. I believe they are also available at Brand at Monte Carlo.

I am a 5 year old, because I am a sucker for mac and cheese at any "nice" restaurant unless there's a moldy cheese or something really off-putting about it. I like moldy cheese, but mostly in salads or on its own.

I'll second this, it was excellent.

I also love a good steak tartare. Had good ones at SW, Stripsteak and Ramsays. Great Lobster Bisque at Craftsteak.

As for a side, I loved the corn at SW. I'm not a big potato guy so I'll usually go with an asparagus or something of the sort but if corn is on the menu that's my go-to.
