I know that I saw on a post somewhere which I cannot find but is it true that CET offers are chain-wide whereas MLIFE is based mostly on where your play was at? The reason I was wondering about this is my next trip is at the Bellagio, and I really like the place, I was thinking of checking out Aria as I have never been and thought that if I wanted offers from there I would need to concentrate my play there.

Disclaimer: last trip I missed out on checking Aria out because of being over-served Tequila!!

Those two systems are not quite the same. MLife looks at your play on a per-property basis. So if you only play at Bellagio, you'll only get offers for Bellagio. CET looks at your play city wide, and will send you offers at properties that more or less match your level of play. Plus CET will have very low calendar rates for all properties (with some being free) without you having to look at the explicit offers they send you.

It is much easier to get cheap/free rooms with CET than MLife. They just have different strategies in how to get players in the door.

We stayed at Monte Carlo about a year ago (via MyVegas comps) and mistakenly thought our play counted across properties. We did 90% of our MGM gambling at Aria and were disappointed when we didn't qualify for one of Monte Carlo's promotions. Upside is that we do get some pretty good offers from Aria! With around $1,000 coin-in I have gotten offers for 1 free night, $50 free play, and 2 free tickets to Zarkana.

MLife has both Corporate Offers and Property Specific offers.

Corporate Offers cover all MGM properties, but vary in the details (like it'll be 3 fully comped nights at MGM Grand, but only discounts at Aria)

Property Specific offers only come from properties you've played at. A lot of times, these offers are better than what the Corporate Offer will give you at the same hotel.

    CET:

CET has the equivalent of Corporate Offers, for example "Yada Yada Extravaganza" in which the offers say you can get 3 nights comped at this list of CET hotels (may not include all of them).

CET also has property-specific EVENTS, in which the event itself (like a slot tourney) is held at a specific hotel , but the offer gives you a choice of hotels to stay at.

The way CET handles property-specific comps is via the Availability Calendars. You log in, look at different hotels, some of them you can get comped, some of them you can't.

As others have said, MLife is much more property specific than CET. I've also heard that if you play less than 10% of your overall MLife play at a location, you won't get an offer for those locations. So I wouldn't spread play evenly among every MLife property on a trip.

Wow - I am sure I have put more than $1,000 coin-in at Aria and have never gotten a free room offer from them - just $79 with some resort credit. My play is VP not slots so that might make a difference. I have recently gotten a couple two night offers from Bellagio - and I play more at Aria than Bellagio.

In my experience the Mlife corporate offers have been just as good as the property specific ones. The Mlife offers are based on play. Aria and Belagio are top, Mirage, MB,Delano, MGM, are next then NYNY and Monte Carlo, Luxor and Excalibur are last. The offers can be booked multiple times during the booking window. I usually spread out my play and I feel my offers reflect my play fine.

Yeah. VP is pretty solid at aria for the strip, especially BeeeJay memorial row 802. [emoji6] also remember regular slots are $3 per point vs. $10 for VP. So at least triple coin-in makes sense.

Mlife also has the worst slot program on the Strip now. All progressive and "Specialty slots" ( Hangover, Willy Wonka, and other licensed machines) are $10 a point. Same as video poker. That's awful. The comps are based on slot points, not coin in. This was confirmed by Mandalay Bay and MGM to me on my recent trip. It's hard to find a $3 per point machine anymore.

Chuck's answer above is the most accurate. I've written multiple times on here that the idea that mlife only looks at property specific play to determine your comps is a myth (I have no idea why this myth persists). If you play at any mlife casino, you can get corporate offers (typically found on their website). You can also get property specific comps (usually better than the corporate offers) based on your play at the specific property. You can also get teaser offers. Hell, I still get property specific offers for Monte Carlo and I haven't gambled or stayed there in over five years.

Mlife, actually, tracks your play company-wide. I know this because I have seen their computers that track our play. Twice I saw what my host brought up on their computer and their system didn't even distinguish between my play in Vegas and Tunica when that play happened in the same week.

So to the OPs point, you don't have to play at Aria to get some offers from there, but you will probably get better offers the more you play there

    I approve this message......LOL.
As far as CET, in the last 7 years, i have stayed at CET hotels that gives me comped/mostly comped weeks (i stay 5 or 6 nights about 3 weeks per year). I book calendar rates. I also go solo so i can pick and choose hotels depending on the weeks i want to go. I am only Gold but i gamble enough to warrant freebies.
In November, i'm staying at Flamingo for 6 nights, Mon-Fri comped, Sat $12.
CET continues to get me in the door because of comps. They haven't let me down yet and i haven't let them down either.
    It's a marriage made in Heaven.......

Mlife does track your play through all of the properties. You can also see your win/loss at each property on their website. Just log in to Mlife and go to account info, then tax info. There it will list the win/loss at each casino, provided you used your player card. I don't know how accurate the information is, but in my case it's pretty close.

    CET mystifies me.

I have yet to stay at a CET property as most of my slot-play has been at MGM properties. This doesn't mean to say I don't gamble at CET hotels and I have maintained Gold status for a number of years.

However, I get superb offers, an example of which is five comped nights in a King Premium room in either Augustus or Octavius towers at Caesar's which is in my account now for most Sept dates.

It's not that hard with CET. I've been gold for years, only made platinum last year. They are that easy to get rooms from. When you look at the calendar rates, you will generally see Rio, Harrah's, and Flamingo either free or very cheap during the week. And if you have a bit more play, PH and Caesars come into play. Plus it can vary on the time of year, as well. I'm a barely Platinum player, and I'm staying at Caesars this week for 5 nights free. When Vegas is in a slow period, CET is willing to give away a lot of rooms to get you in the door.

Because i'm consistent, that's why some higher tier CET players may not get the things i get all the time. CET knows my play is dependable, they know that with my play i will lose money each day on a consistent basis, my bankroll doesn't change, so they give me free rooms. That's why for the last few years i only book rooms at CET at calendar rate. I don't take offers because i go solo, and the last i checked, comped rooms are cheaper than discounted rooms with a free buffet pass. I have stayed at Caesars, Rio, PHO, Bally's, Paris and Flamingo multiple times. I just came back from Bally's in June. I stayed for 6 nights, 5 nights comped, that's why i was there an extra night, the extra night was the same rate at the resort fee, by the way........
Same thing in November, staying 6 nights, 5 comped, and Sat $12. I book standard rooms then use the tip to upgrade at check in.

My play doesn't go down. For example, i will be staying at Flamingo in November for 6 nights for $2 per. Let's say my bankroll is $400 each day, times 6, so about $2500 per trip for gambling. If i lose $400 the first day, i don't cut back on gambling the 2nd day, it will still be $400. If i win $500 on the first day, again, i will pocket the cash and still maintain my daily allowance of $400 per day. It's money management.

I am mainly a slots player, once in a while i'll play VP and/or VBJ just to break it up. But i will never sway from my daily allowance i set forth before i go to Vegas. It's discipline. I give them my daily allowance, they give me free rooms. I never gamble for free rooms, i gamble what i feel is comfortable for me, and that's having fun. It just so happens that CET feels the same way. I'm having fun in the free rooms they're giving me, it's a two way street.

And speaking of resort fees, I'm also having fun playing at home on Social Rewards. So not only do i get free rooms, i also get rewarded with points that i use for paying off the resort fees. I never play to pay my resort fees because i never pay to play, i play for free. Again, money management.
So in 30+ years of going to Vegas, i am paying less for a week in Sin City than i was back in the 80's.
    Gawd i love Vegas.

Chuck & UKFan nailed it. CET sends you offers based on all play at all CET casinos in town. They dont care. So if you bounce around while you play staying and playing @ CET joints will get you better offers (to their shittier casinos).

MLife will get you corp offers if you bounce but those are weak to property specific ones. So if you bounce it will hurt your offers. Below is an email from my host at Luxor when I asked her about this. I ran thru enough coin over 2 days and my Luxor offers were always like $40 in Free Play. TI, with the same play, gets me $350.

"Thank you so much for attending the slot tournament and congrats on winning the drawing! In regards to your play this trip; overall the theoretical was doubled what you had from your previous trip. I believe what is happening is because you are splitting the play amongst the M Life properties, it’s not gaining you higher offers. The property specific offers are based on the play at that property. So for example, you had approx. 2100 in theo (which is great) overall at the M Life properties, but for Luxor specifically you had 672 in theoretical over the three days. The Luxor offers are based off of the 672 , not the overall. Does that make sense?"

In all fairness, as a slot player, your offers should be tied to your coin-in. If you have $400 to gamble with each day but have shit luck and just get $1K of coin per day your offer will dip. If you have $400 a day for your next trip, and catch some decent wins and now average $5K per day you look like a king compared to your last visit. Just having $400 per day to play with doesn't necessarily mean you are consistent unless you just play VP. I've turned $200 into $0 coin ($5.00 machine) and I've turned $200 into 3 hours of play and $5K coin as well. Same money different millage. The slots are fickle like that!
