Mine is the same except it is for 10/16 - 10/18. I'll actually be there at Cosmo those dates. But I don't really have any desire to cruise so I'll probably just stick with the nice freeplay + food offer I'm booked under.
Nice I got the same offer (as a Plat) but I don't really have a desire for cruises either. I would be curious to see how others have actually used this offer & to see if it was actually worthwhile.
Yeah. I haven't given Cosmo much action either. I'm Sterling, I believe. I was really surprised to get the offer I did a few weeks ago from them as it had much more free play than usual - plus they had stopped sending me any offers at all over the past few months. (Though, to be fair, I've booked Cosmo a few times just to get the free play and have a mid-strip place to crash and I've never given them that much play.)
I called them to see what's going on, apparently you have to go to their promotional event, and you get to draw which cruise you get or something like that. She seemed a little unsure herself though. If anyone has full written details, I'd love to see it.
CET often has those NCL offers. You should inquire what category of cabin they are offering and if port charges, taxes and gratuities are an additional cost. You might be better off with the cruise benefit as part of being 7 Stars......that is a balcony cabin.
Mine was for an ocean view cabin, hubby's was just a comp cabin. The fine print says the guest has to pay for taxes and fees. The 7 Stars annual cruise is for a balcony cabin for all cruises except the one I would want, Alaska. That's just an ocean view cabin. Many, many casinos do these. Here is the deal. The casino wants to get you to the land casino to make a donation. The cruise line wants to get a "known" player on to the ship to make a similar donation. In most cases (not all), you still pay part of the fare, maybe a few hundred for each person. You still pay all the other stuff onboard - drinks, daily tip, tours,etc etc. Not a bad deal, but just understand. And, no, your play does not count back towards the home casino points at all.
I also got the Cosmo cruise offer for October 16th to 18th. Likely won't use it as I also got the Princess cruise last year via a offer from Venetian and didn't use it. I did use M-Life's offer 3 years when I was Noir for the 7 day Caribbean cruise on the Allure of the Seas for a balcony cabin and then again a year later when I dropped to Platinum for a 5 day cruise that Oasis of the Seas had due to just returning from a TA. Those cruises ended up being a good deal for me, and the gambling in the ship casino turned out to be decent, ended up with a hand pay on the Allure. The exception is M-Life where they say or at least they did 2 years ago that the play onboard RCCL would be added to tier points with M-life. Of course this year they have switched to the other cruise company owned by RCCL, Celebrity cruises so not sure if they are still doing that. Also with M-life, there are free drink coupons for the casino bar, some minimal internet included, speciality restaurant for 2 and some priority boarding, etc...they also included a welcome gift and bottle of wine the year I was noir.
It's been 2 years since I took the offer and haven't been to Cosmo since, but I did accept the deal. When it was offered to me, you had to be there in person for an event they held on the main floor (where the Pop Up Wedding Chappel was) near BOND. You were awarded a certificate for a 7 day cruise anwhere in the world that NCL sailed. For me, the offer was passage for 2 in an inside cabin, and I had to pay for any upgrades and all port taxes and fees. You have 1 year from the date of the cruise to complete the offer. We chose to upgrade to a balcony and paid up front accordingly and set a date almost exactly one year later. When we arrived on ship, the Casino hosts had sent us a complimentary bottle of wine and fruit plate to the room. Before we set sail, we were hosted at a reception with complimentary drinks and hors d'oeuvres where we met the casino hosts and staff. After that, it was complementary drinks at only the casino bar for the rest of the cruise. Depending on play, you certainly can get additional comps, but the gaming conditions are not good. As a VP player, I can find better pay tables anywhere at Ceaser's. Sigh. Still it was our first cruise and it was fun. YMMV
Got the offer as well and we're actually already booked at the Cosmo on that date of the promotion. I'm betting it's the cheapest cruise they offer with no extras and maybe valued at $400-$500 from my research. By the time you factor in airfare and transportation to the port, upgrade your cabin and add a beverage package, that free cruise will cost you $2,500 - $3,000 if not more.
Generally speaking, you can choose any cruise you want - any date - as long as it's in the areas they list. I think Hawaii is the only place you can't go. I did one of these via Palms a few years ago which was for a Penthouse. The retail value was $6000. There was no catch. We probably spent a few hundred in taxes and port charges but once on the boat the casino could care less if we gambled. No point in doing this if you don't like cruises but if you do check what category they are coming you in and see what the cost (before port charges) would be if you booked it on your own. Ultimately, you might get very good comp. I got this Cosmo offer too but it was for a "mini-suite" vs the penthouse I was given at Palms. I don't really like large mass cruise lines so I wouldn't do it again but we had a good time on our cruise.
