Staying at MB and know the casino isn't the loud, fun atmosphere we love. For example, PH. Does Luxor have this? Excalibur? Anything close to MB?

Try NYNY. Luxor/Excal are all right in terms of fun casino, but I think being on the small side, NYNY seems to have more action.

Excalibur is loud, but that's from the little kiddies, Luxor is not loud, in fact some people in here consider Luxor a tomb or catacomb. Monte Carlo is quiet and boring.
If you want a loud, fun casino on the South Strip, i would suggest MGM and/or NYNY, or even Cosmo/City Center.

I actually love Luxor, MB, and Monte Carlo, but to answer your question, the three i mentioned up above.

Planet Hollywood is loud and fun, but not really south strip. I suppose nyny is the closest

Yup NYNY. Definitely not Luxor. And Excalibur is more...carnival.

+2 for MGM. It can get pretty rowdy.

Since the renovations I find the Trop to be pretty rowdy in the evenings.

MGM is probably your best crowd within the "South" of the Strip (even tho technically it's close to the mid).

i stayed at luxor and mb a few weeks ago. Being college kids and wanting the loud drunk party dancing atmosphere we had to head north. planet hollywood, cosmo, and even downtown to get our fix. For me the table game dealers and cocktail waitresses set the tone. when their old and boring, its usually a bad experience. when their young hot, and fun, i can tolerate staying longer even if im losing money because of the fun time.

Not too "south strip' but not far away is casino royale.

Always a party going on there.

Heck, if you want loud and fun and you want a party atmosphere, try O'Shea's or Margaritaville. There is no difference between the "South" Strip, and "Mid" Strip for fun. Fun doesn't have a location, Fun is Vegas, Vegas is fun.

MB can be loud and fun. It all depends on what events are going on during your stay.

The most lively of the casinos on the south end is MGM.

NYNY is a close second because it is smaller.

Thanks! I agree that MB can be ok if there's a good event, but it's usually pretty quiet. PH is our favorite for a party casino and I was hoping there was something a little closer. I'm thinking NYNY is next closest since we can tram it to Excalibur and walk from there. But we'll probably end up at PH like always!

I would say Excalibur. Its filled with low rollers who are mostly in the casino to drink and have a good time

I'd agree. I walked in there for the first time in many years on my last trip on my way back to MGM after seeing Carrot Top and was pleasantly surprised at the vibe in there. I still didn't stay in there long, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

Loudest and funnest close to south strip IMHO is Planet Hollywood. Not that far of a walk from nyny, or like a $5 cab from Mandalay.

For those that are suggesting Planet Hollywood...what is it that you like about that one?

Its a younger college party crowd. the dealers are young, fun and dressed sexy. They have dancers in the pit. they pump in great party atmosphere music at night, top 40's, hip hop, pop kinda music.
