Been absolutely getting my aces cracked pretty regularly lately. On the other hand, I have absolutely killed it with pocket 4's.

    You?

    And AQ suited sucks....

obviously depends on position, but I hate AQ of any type. Also Jacks suck big balls in my history

I dislike JQ os - usually turns to mush, in my hands anyway.

I called a $12 bet with pocket 2's because I didn't like the raiser. Ended up flopping quads. Wish that always happened :)

    Nice....

Suited J7 seems to be treating me nicely as well.

AQ and AJ are often overplayed.

JJ dropped me out of many games.
Played a great hand against 88. Check, raise worked perfect and he goes all in.
He has 2 black 8's. I have 2 red jacks. He rivers a flush.(4 spades)

    52 suited and 64 suited.

I don't win all the time with them or anything like that, but when you do hit you can usually catch the other player off guard and get a lot of chips.

According to Poker Tracker aces have been most profitable hand online. But I really do like playing small suited connectors, especially in rather deep stacked live cash games.

The problem with aces is the expectation is always higher than the reality. You only win 1/3rd of the time with them, but it feels like you should win way more!!!

With aces I think the main issue is two things:

First, you always remember and note when they lose. The times when you bet up the pot and get a walk or take the pot down on the flop, turn or river... those are easy to forget about. Its when you keep shoveling chips in to the pot and the other player keeps calling and you lose a big pot on the river - those are the times you had aces that you remember.

And then after that its just a lack of understanding the numbers and odds: yes, aces against a lesser pair you are supposed to win about 80% of the time, against suited connectors around 77% of the time... those are the numbers people know, they remember, the odds they think they have. But your aces up against three or four other players, which is the more common situation at the lower stakes than being heads up, and your pre-flop odds of aces winning the hand are getting down towards 41-42% - your aces should lose MORE than half the time.

Yeah I call it the curse of the pocket Aces. Playing no limit against calling stations I just shove all in to get their attention and take the small profit.

Just don't ever (or hardly) slowplay your aces in nl cash games. you Will mostly only win small pots and lose big ones...

King ten has been my lucky hand for as long as I can remember. I also seem to always lose w JJ...every time it feels like. I should just fold that hand.

That's the thing. Other factors weigh in. If you're not an aggressive player, or you're playing limit, pocket aces are not as good.

I like tens. On one of my memorable losses, I had pocket queens, and on the sixth card with a queen and two tens on the board a jack came. My opponent bet pretty big, and I was sure he had a pair of jacks and I was going to skin him. He had the tens.

Suited Aces obviously! :goofy: Seriously though. If you had AA every time, you would crush over the long haul. Have to withstand the variance.

I have quit playing AQ more times than I have quit smoking cigarettes.....still never learn my lesson!

10-5 seems like my worst hand. Not that I have never won with it.
No real possibilities unless you get a miracle flop.
Of course you can say that about a lot of hands with gaps
    And no suit.

Best hand is AA , period. KK a distant second, Because
So many people will play Ax, if there is an ace on the flop
You are in trouble and most times done.
Took me forever to learn this. Stubborn is a bad
    Quality at the poker table.

Well, the standard starting strength pretty regularly dictates how I do on the hands. AA is definitely what I want to start

As far as undervalued hands, in limit games, I like to play low suited connectors if not much pre flop raising. Take huge pots with those when they

As far as overvalued hands, I don't like 77 88 99 or the like. Regularly fold those in full tournaments or NL out of position if there is any aggression at all on the table.

22 for some reason pulls very lucky for me. Won a lot of big pots by representing it as Aces.

What I don't understand is how, when I do have KK, there seems to be six or seven Aces in the deck, because the board ALWAYS flops an A and at least one other player ALWAYS has one.
