I stayed for 4 nights with a meal book and $100 free play in March at the Cal and I thought it was about $20-$25k coin in. I was receiving those offers through July but starting August the rooms dropped to 3 nights with no meal book and $25 free play. I was also getting all kinds of video poker tournament entires. I accumulated a little over 10k in points but I can't remember how many dollars earned a point. It was a mixture of vp and slots. I've only been there one other night last year and racked up 7k in points that one night. Is the lower daily average the reason why these are dropping or just trying to entice me to get back there by the end of July? Thanks for the responses.

I've been getting offers from them for years and there has been no change in the level of my offers in August. I would suspect that your daily average dropped. It's $1 coin in per point except for certain VP machines that are clearly marked $3 per point.

My offers from MSS dropped dramatically. Apparently, my wife has a linked account. We were going to have a short play day so played on her card. My offers have been screwed up ever since then. I like MSS but I'm getting better offers elsewhere so unless my host figures out a way to fix the short day we are probably done there until (if) we get a please come back type offer.

I never book using my MSS mailers, always through my host, but I use the mailers as a gauge.

After we only gave them an average of about $7,000 coin in per day in Oct & Nov, my mailer offers dropped. 3 nights, zero freeplay and $20 per day in food credits. My standard mailer used to be 4 nights, $100 in FP, then reduced to $75 and $50 in food credits per day. We normally give them ~$10,000 coin-in per day.

They seem very quick to respond to what they perceive as low play, or the computer does.

I looked at my latest offer and FP has gone "up" to $25, but still only 3 nights and $20 in food credits.

Like I said, I don't use the mailers and our host provides us with a suite, limo and Gold Card for all meals, but I found it interesting how quickly the offers changed after two lower play trips.

Well after years of consistent offers from the Cal, with consistent play, they got me too! My September comp room offer includes crappy food credit and no more freeplay! I have a contact there in marketing who I will ask to see what is going on. I suspect a downward change in the theoretical house win for VP.

I would say a higher ADT threshold to receive higher offers...rather than going through the ACTUAL machines and changing the theo settings on them.

Theoreticals are not set on the actual physical machine. It is determined by the slot system management software on the network. A theo change on a machine or type of machines can be done in seconds.

I have been checking my offers online regularly, hoping for my December dates to pop up. I have one Orleans offer, good through October, one Gold Coast also good through October, and California offers for each month individually through November.

This morning I checked and all my room offers are now gone from my account. Did this happen to anyone else? I have not visited any casino since my last trip so I haven't short played to make them drop off.

There was another thread about all Boyd on-line room offers disappearing for a day or two and then reappearing on-line. Glitch?

Whew! That makes me feel better. I will check again later and see if they come back.

Do you have anywhere, where you're getting that, that I can read?
I've always been under the impression that theo's are set PER machine (although SOME places don't, they just set the same theo for ALL slots and ALL video poker)
Or are you saying that the management software (ie: Konami or Bally) determines the "Average" return of a machine and calculates a theo based on that data?
If you wish, PM me about this, as I'm very interested.

I find this amazing. I prefer to play BJ, but have playing more VP to get comps. I was out the end of June and played hours (at least it felt that way) on end with the sole purpose of reaching the Sapphire level before my "year" was over. I made it by playing 3 days but only 7500 pts. I even was playing $1 VP at times, others .50, but mostly .25. I just can't take playing non-stop, at least so far. I was surprised to see that I still have my card score going into the new year, but getting to emerald just seems insane. I do have a question, if someone would be kind enough to answer, do I need to exceed 25000 during the year just to maintain the Sapphire? thx

The tier score at boyd is based on the most recent 12 months. You do need 25,000 pts annually to maintain sapphire. I was emerald one year but that was before they increased that requirement to 250,000 pts. VP is my game of choice so it is easy to maintain. I don't think I would bother if it felt like a chore.

Sometimes it does feel like a chore to maintain our Emerald card, but we both like the perks. My wife loves having the suite at MSS and we both love the Gold Card and limo to and from.

I keep getting very close to dropping down to Sapphire, but then I just step it up with a multiplay game for a few days. I know if we put 57,500 on the card in two weeks, we'll keep the Emerald card until Oct 31, 2016. That is a four night trip.

I know, don't chase comps, but free suite, free food and the limo to/from the airport makes it seem worthwhile for us.

Thx for info. I was playing the bar top @ MSS. I enjoyed it, but like to get up and move around so I never played too long. Plus I enjoy the interaction at a table as opposed to the solitary VP. Found myself talking to the machine too much. Think I can maintain the Sapphire, no way will I ever go higher.

Yep. They seem to mess with their on-line site every once in a while. Offers would disappear for a while and then magically re-appear. I think if you saw them on your online account then you should be good to go.

I agree with you. If you enjoy your perks, then it is worthwhile. I enjoy the perks offered to me at Sapphire level and I don't mind trying to maintain it because the level of play is what I'm comfortable with and I'm gonna play like that anyway everytime I go to Vegas.

Sorry for all the questions. For years I was just a ruby, I just attained the Sapphire and was offered a three night stay. My prior offer at the ruby was two nights and whole $10 food. Is the three night the standard at Sapphire or is everything still based on how many points you accumulate? Never played enough BJ for them to give a damn about, refuse to play slots, at least with VP you have a chance.

Boyd gives you a free three night stay at any Boyd Vegas property as part of your Sapphire anniversary. Regular offers, on the other hand, are based on your play at a specific property and not necessarily based on what level of BConnected card you have.

Most everything is still based on the number of points you earn. The 3 free nights at any Boyd property is an annual renewal offer tied to your sapphire renewal. It's a great way to try properties you don't normally frequent.
