    My Trip Report

Hey VMB Friends, Degenerates, Beauties, Drunks and Gamblers :)

We are headed to Vegas, which is way overdue, and I'm going to be doing a LIVE TR! I figured since my post on Vegas Outfits was so popular, I'm going to start my TR now!

There's a lot of pre-work for some of us ladies (and maybe for some of you guys too). Of course there's the coveted dining reservations, talking to your host, flights/rental cars, strategy, appointments to schedule, hangover pills to stock up on... but for me, there's also cultivating the right Vegas looks for my husband and I, both daytime and nighttime.

When I was little, my mom and dad used to bring me to Vegas. A lot. I learned to play craps when I was... well lets just say when I was "21" :ssst:. I remember my mom and dad getting dressed up, walking through the casino and seeing men in suits and ladies in dresses or pantsuits (with shoulder pads) and it just seemed like it was an "event". Just being in the casino was an "event". People took care and dressed like they were going somewhere... their fashion was maybe a bit questionable, looking back, but the effort was still there and I like that. This is exactly why I take care in planning our outfits... I like to look the part, to look like we're going to an "event", because we are! Vegas is an event! (and I'm lucky... my husband doesn't mind playing along, within reason of course... but I know what he likes/doesn't).

So here we go, the planning, itinerary and packing begin...

We're arriving into Vegas on Tuesday, June 30th @ 12:41pm on Delta. We didn't and probably won't get the first class bump, but we are in the equivalent of domestic "business" class with their Delta Comfort Plus. It includes: 5" of additional legroom, sky priority access (boards right after first), complimentary beer, wine and/or cocktails, snacks/meals (flight length dependent), and of course, seats at the very front of the economy cabin (an easy off, which is ALWAYS a win). Of course, we'll get everything pressed as soon as we arrive, they were only packed a day when I thought I should start my TR now... man they all got wrinkled fast!

    Our flight outfits are these:

    IMG_7195.jpg IMG_7205.jpg

Him- Diesel Jeans, Merona Polo, Billabong Flip Flops
Her- Max Studio Top, Seven for All Mankind Shorts, Tory Burch Sandals, Nordstrom Rack Jewelry, Tory Burch York Buckle Tote.

Upon our arrival in Vegas, we're renting a car (unusual, we usually opt for Presidential Limo to take us, everywhere! If you haven't tried them... they are super affordable, very dependable and you can rent for as little as 1 hour (or just a transfer to/from the airport). This trip, I'll be attending a conference, and we're not staying at the conference hotel... also, we are planning on visiting some of our favorite local places (Omelet House, Roadrunner Cafe *maybe*, and going out to Red Rock)... a car just made more sense!

The rest of our itinerary for the day includes:

Registering for the Palazzo Slot Tourney
    Craps, Some V/P, Some Slots
    Dinner at Carnevino
Strip Club Visit (Husband's 1st time to one, EVER, so excited to take him)

Our day one evening outfits are:

    8d4d32d698bbbb9dfea33850f8b34ba8.jpg IMG_7196.jpg

You'll have to imagine my hubs outfit... the pants are waiting to be picked up and the black shirt is still wrapped up, but this is basically it.

Him: Boss Grey Slacks, Ferragamo Dress Shoes and Belt, and a Marc Anthony Black Dress Shirt.
Her: PattiBoutik One Shoulder Dress in Dark Purple, New Very Prive Nude Peep Toe Louboutin's, Jewelry & bag TBD

On day two I have conference stuff in the morning and later on, we're heading to the spa! We prefer to go off strip, having been to most of the strip spas, both hubs and I agree... they aren't very good at the actual services, not BAD, but not good... and certainly not $150-200 per service + tip good.

Our day two day outfits are (post conference):

    IMG_7190.jpg IMG_7204.jpg

Him: Rock and Republic Jeans, Rock and Republic Tee, and Billabong Flip Flops.
Her: Merona Dress, Lucky Brand Wedges and Jewelry TBD, Louis Vuitton Wilshire Tote.

The evening of day two we're heading to dinner at e' by Jose Andres at Cosmo and will probably just gamble, but who knows, it's Vegas!

Our day two evening outfits are:

    IMG_7187.jpg IMG_7208.jpg

Him: Black Tommy Hilfiger Tailored Suit, Grey Nordstrom Dress Shirt, Ferragamo Shoes and Belt.

Her: Ralph Lauren Sequin and Lace Boatneck Dress, New Very Prive Nude Peep Toe Louboutin's, Jewelry & bag TBD

Day three in the morning brings more conference stuff and then just fun at the tables. We may do some shopping this day, def some people watching, cocktailing and just a relaxing time.

Our day three day outfits are (post conference):

    IMG_7192.jpg IMG_7203.jpg

Him: Michael Kors Two Pocket Black Polo, Merona Cargo Shorts, and Billabong Flip Flops.
Her: Max Studio Striped Black and White Dress, Target Coral and Pink Necklace with Matching Bracelet, Lucky Brand Black Wedges and Tory Burch York Buckle Tote.

Day three evening will include dinner at CUT and I think another strip club. I am taking him to two this trip... to show the vast differences in "club", in Vegas. I'm thinking the Palomino and Hustler (or another big club). I have been to Sapphire, Treasures, OG, Spearmint Rhino and I think maybe another one or two. I thought we'd go to ones I haven't been to, so they are "firsts" for us both :wink2:

Our day three evening outfits are:

    IMG_7188.jpg IMG_7189.jpg IMG_7198.jpg

Him: Robert Graham Dress Shirt, Diesel Jeans, and Ferragamo Shoes and Belt.
Her: PattiBoutik One Shoulder Sequin and Fringe Top with Rock and Republic Jeans, Nine West Black Sparkle Pumps, Jewelry & Bag TBD.

Day four is departure day... but not until 11pm! Thought we'd head to the Omelet House for breakfast, come back and play some more... check out and head to Red Rock (We like to play Bingo, it's a sentimental thing)... we'll probably spend a few hours there and then maybe wrap up the evening with some play at Mandalay before our flight.

Our day four outfits are (a bit patriotic, as we arrive home on July 4th):

    IMG_7194.jpg IMG_7206.jpg

Him: Rock and Republic Patriotic Tee, Rock and Republic Jeans, and Billabong Flip Flops.
Her: Rock and Republic Patriotic Tank, Rock and Republic Skinny Jeans, Tory Burch Flip Flops, Tory Burch York Buckle Tote, and Jewelry TBD.

Ahhhhh I can't wait to get going. If I can make it through the weekend with our three boys not driving me totally insane (we really need this vacation), all will be well! Just the rest of this day to go, tomorrow, what I am sure it will be a fast Monday and we're OFF!!!

This is my first live TR and I sure hope I don't disappoint! Good luck to everyone in Vegas now or going soon... I wish you all MONEY FUN MONEY FUN MONEY FUN!!!!

Actually - I love this post - and if I could get my hubby to cooperate - I just might try for a little flare myself. My daughter is very much like you - every outfit is a serious plan - and she always looks perfect!! I will enjoy following this!!

Thanks so much JoesMom! My advice for husband cooperation... stick with the colors he usually wears... mine, black and grey (clearly)... and don't go TOO out of the box at first :) My husband loves it because he has to do nothing but put the clothes on. It's a win for him and a win for me :)

Since you asked and I love these shirts ... my problem is I always get at least one before each trip and now I have a closet full and these are the tame ones.

I love these! I'd love to see the untamed ones!!!

Do you know that if you own 100 shirts you can have a shirt named after you? The "Riders" perhaps... :) :)

You seem to be quite a fashionable person, so I have a question for you. I noticed a few of your husband's outfits include jeans and flip flops. I used to wear jeans w/ flip flops frequently, until a fashionable female friend of mine informed me that flip flops with anything but shorts is a big fashion no-no.

This surprised me, so I poked around online a bit and some fashion websites/blogs seemed to confirm what my friend said. What are your thoughts on the matter? Can I go back to wearing jeans and flip flops?

    Thanks!

I think situationally, it's totally appropriate. Sometimes, especially in the day time, dress shoes are obviously too much and the shirt may not work with athletic shoes.

If it's summer, boots are out too... So flip flops or sport sandals, work. Especially when paired with at t-shirt... Again, the shirt is really going to drive what you wear on your feet. IMO flip flops don't work with most button up shirts... Unless it's a Hawaiian shirt or other type of "beach" wear look... Tshirts though, again especially in the summer, work fine!

Now, do make sure your feet don't look bad (pedicures are for guys too and feel awesome) and make sure you've got good, cloth or leather or canvas sandal/flip flop... No plastic shower shoe types! Invest in a nice pair or two (black and brown).

And this goes without but socks and sandals are a no no.

Most of all... Wear what you feel good in and forget "what fashion says"... Fashion is relative :)

    wow, nice clothes.
I do none of these things though. I just throw clothes in a bag for myself and my kiddo and then choose what to wear the day of as my mind can change a bit the day of.
I have been into a lot of dresses and skirts lately though
