I keep getting offers for slot tourneys at Gold Coast for $99 including hotel stay. Has anyone ever done one of these? I am curious as to how the tourney sessions are structured.

I've never paid for a tourney, I get all the offers comped.
BJ, Craps, slots, and VP. I get offers for every month. (I am Emerald level BTW)
I just did a VP tourney last month:
Checking in was on Sunday, where you were given your time slots.
    One am session on Monday
    2nd session on Tuesday.
By 4 pm, totals from both sessions were displayed, and they handed out the cash!
    I placed 7th, and won $100 cash.
No FP here, just cold cash.

The $99 isn't bad, as that would be about $34 a night.
They might charge you the "resort" fee though, in addition.

The $99 tournament is a good deal but if you get the weekend one it's much better. There is one on August 7-9 check out Mo, August 10.

Thanks for the info MG, few questions for ya,what kind of hands did you get to finish in the money? And did you have a great first session or last or just a combo? What was the game and how long was each session timer?
I'm in the one for September 14 or 15..Thanks

I don't think I've ever been offered a weekend one at GC. The $99 one I am looking at happens to match up with dates I was already looking at. I've been offered free ones from Orleans before but right now I don't have any tourney offers from them. I figured I would probably get the resort fee since it's not free. I just don't want one where there are sessions stretched out over the all the days to the point where you feel you can't leave the casino.

I got 1 high quad in the 1st round, placed me 22nd, at the end. No one hit any royals for all sessions. Very unusual.
Each session was timed 15 min, so the faster you played, the more hands you got.
Since the top 50 got paid, I knew if I did good in the 2nd round, I'd win t least $50. I had 3000+ pts.

In the 2nd round, I got 3 quads, a straight flush, and many wins on most hands. Again, over 3000+ pts.
I saw that there were 2 royals hit, those 2 got the top 2 cash prices.
I was very happy to come in 7th for that $100 bill.
