Just chalk me as yet another, "This site is the only group of people I trust in the entire world" person.

I currently have a Lenovo PC running Foobar 2000, with a high end USB cable running into a modified Benchmark DAC. From there, Kimber Select 1036's send the signal to Mackie 824 Mk. II's. I'm thinking of parting with $3,000 for a better pair of active monitors. While I like and respect the Mackies, I think they may be the weakest link in my system. My power cords are Furutech Power Reference III all the way around, so I feel content on that front.

Any audiophiles on the board who might want to pitch in?

Not knowing the full intentions for your setup I'd suggest...

Klipsch - For 5.1 Surround Sound if you wanted a TV setup -
or Klipsch ProMedia for small 2.1 Speakers for your Computer.
For Music Production - Yamaha's "HS" Series with the White Woofer.
