I have never tried Mastro's in Crystals despite staying only at Aria,Cosmo or Vdara for the last 3 years.

I found some older reviews that were generally positive.
Wondering if anybody on the board has been there recently and how it was.

Thinking about going Sun night Memorial Day weekend.

Frankly, I hate it--but I dislike steakhouses in general. If you LIKE classic steakhouse cuisine, this is your place as they do a fantastic job with it. The Mastros in Beverly Hills is better but the one in Crystals is better than the one in Newport Beach. I'd rather go to Le Cirque--and pay about the same.

Agree with dankyone. But Mastros is in my top 4 favorite steakhouse in the country but only the Beverley hills and Thousand oaks. Vegas is ok.

I never gave Mastro's much credit since it's a chain, but after so many recommendations for CA locations, I finally added to the list to check out. I ended up dining there for my birthday in March after I botched my reservation at Picasso. I wasn't disappointed. The seabass and lamb were simply prepared, but very delicious and large portions. The Dungeness crab cocktail was fantastic too. We ordered gnocchi and mac & cheese, which ended up being too much, but we took plenty of leftovers home. Sure, there are more unique or creative places to dine, but Mastro's is a solid choice.

Bumping this. Nittany1, how was your dinner/experience?

I was there two weeks ago, went based on the recommendation of Ed/Eddie, dealer at Cosmo, who took his wife there for their anniversary and he said it was one of, if not the best, meals he had in Vegas, food and service combined.

My meal was great: tomahawk ribeye, crab and truffle gnocchi were the two standouts but honestly I was pretty lit and can't give a full-on eval/review.

I do remember that I've never in my life been in a men's room that was so fully stocked and staffed by two attendants. Seriously, it was like a ridiculous high-end c-store. I tipped just because it was so hilarious/OTT.

Nittany, also can you charge back to Aria room?
I've eaten at several and prefer the Palm Desert to Malibu and TO.
    Never been to BHills.

Yes, you can do a room charge to any of the MILF properties. I prefer the Scottsdale location to the one in LV as well, although we did have a good meal when we visited the Crystal's location last year. If you order the tomahawk ribeye, you better be hungry!! My wife likes the warm butter cake for dessert.

    That is correct.
We went shortly after it opened and it was similar to NOBU when it opened.
Lots of staff and servers but some confusion in the service.
Food was good but seemed they were selling the location a bit more than the meal.
Perhaps not fair due to them just getting their feet wet there.

I went to Mastro's in 2011 with a big group of friends. I really enjoyed it, accept for the ******bag manager who would not honour our group reservation because the majority of the people in my group were under 30. This was immediately solved when a very famous customer at the bar stepped in for us. I don't know what said celebrity said to the manager, but we were immediately seated with a round of comped drinks and appetizers.

After all my years in the hospitality industry, I had never seen or heard of anything like this before.

What does age have to do with anything? That makes no sense.

I agree! To be clear, not one person was out of control drunk or causing any disturbance, and everyone was dressed appropriately. Our server even commented that the way we were initially treated was ridiculous. The service and the food were excellent. We left a very generous cash tip for the waiter and his "bussers."

I wrote a scathing letter to head office once I returned home.

I would like to know who the celebrity was also.??

We really enjoyed our dinner there.
Service was excellent. My wife had Sea Bass and I had Halibut.
Simple grilled preparation on both entrees but very tasty.
I was not blown away by the place but would like to try it again at a more relaxed time.
We were flying out in the morning and did not get there until 9pm on Monday.
