    My Trip Report

Too close (2.5 more days) and I'm too distracted to focus on work, will update this first post tonight with some more detail.

We are already kid free - they went to grandma's yesterday! Hopefully will pack tonight.

Flying out of Des Moines - which is quite a trek, but doing it to facilitate kid switcharoo with grandma. Apparently it's the world pork expo this week, which means we're paying double for a room Wednesday night before we fly out (lucky it's only that, and had to use my marriott platinum to get it). Crazy. Wonder if the whole town will smell like bacon?

Staying at Cosmo the whole time, but have a room booked at Caesars too.

    Some things on the list
-convert FP to $$$$ (between the two have about $1k FP)
-engage some sluts for hand jobs (er, slots for hand pays)
-find a dirty shirley or two, love the cherries ;)
-pool day (w/ cabana or daybed) (I'm iffy on this, but husband wants to, I'd rather drink/gamble haha)
    -poker tournament or cash games
-eat at wicked spoon this time
    -container park
-maybe run up to trop to get the other half of my slot play loss refund
-hit up another diamond lounge or two
-try to take it a little easy on alcohol the last two days, coming home to work one day then sinus surgery on Wednesday

We'll probably mostly eat at CET props and cosmo. Might get show tickets, we'll see.

    Can. Not. Wait.

Looking forward to another fun trip report from you jf. :)

And good luck with the sinus surgery. I may be having that in the next few months so I'll be curious if you think it helps.

Thanks! I'll try to remember to post a followup - could be entertaining depending on the drugs ;)

Kid free means spontaneous dinner at the local bar for taco night and wings (and Moose Drool - see pic) uploadfromtaptalk1433199527879.jpg

I don't normally drink much at home anymore, guess I'm priming early. I'm primarily a beer drinker, but don't want to mess with finding a good beer on the slot floor. One trip I asked the CW for a recommendation, I was already drunk and she recommended the dirty shirley. I thought it was hilarious and still think it's funny. Puts a smile on my face every time! I never drink them at home though - purely my Vegas "easy", go-to drink

Time to get packing! Flying southwest, so doing a carryon and checked bag. Do I need to? Hell no, but dammit, I like options, plus it'll make the bell tip more worth it ;) Who knows, might change my mind by the time I'm done. Here's the carryon I bought on our March trip (in my closet)

Packing is a good distraction from the itching - 2nd week in a row I've had a reaction to my allergy shot. Full body hives kind of suck haha! Almost gone now, but no way in hell am I putting a bra back on, so trying to avoid my husband and his buddy. Fortunately the house is big enough for the both of us ;) They are prepping to go shooting tomorrow before we leave (my last day of work). Husband is also going shooting with some friends in vegas, probably on Sunday.

Back to the itching, theres a funny story from the first time it happened, but we're goinf to skip that. I haven't had to use it, but have an epi pen now. Holy cow, these suckers are expensive. I know how important these are for some people and imagine they must be very hard for some to afford! I figured they'd been around long enough that they couldn't be that expensive. Though I probably don't need to for myself, I think I'll always keep in it my purse, perhaps perhaps shall help a stranger (or friend) some day. The one I have talks, which is pretty cool!

Regarding the auvi-q (different brand of epi pen), it has a "trainer" too, the talking walks you through the whole process including the 5 second countdown during injection. Pretty cool

I saw the guy with the lucky nut that you rubbed at Cosmo this past weekend for the 500K slot tourney.

Yeah? Did you rub his nut again? Perhaps I shall find a nice young man with a luckier nut this time

Have a fun trip and good luck!

I see you are heading to container park. I went there a few days ago just for the point of going to Jinju chocolates. If interested, they have a groupon right now. I used it as a gift for my host (then gave a cash tip with it), but ended up getting a bunch of other stuff when there. I just looked and the groupon is still available if you were interested in trying anything there~

Great idea! If I do that, perhaps I'll actually make it this time! :)

I keep meaning to try Big Sky beers, but I always balk at the price. And yeah, craft beer and the slot floor really don't mix at most places. If I can actually flag a CW down at Cosmo, a minor miracle for me, I go with a Fat Tire because that's the "craftiest" thing they'll give me. My typical MO at Cosmo is to play at the bar for a little bit, get a beer and go back to the floor. If you like IPAs, you owe it to yourself to go to Bond Bar and get a Ballast Point Sculpin (pic below taken at Venetian Sportsbook which also has it).

One of the best IPAs I've ever had. Five minutes of 6/5 Bonus VP (96.87%) at $1.25 a pop, or even the 3x3 Texas Tea slot game (I think they have this slot game and a few others...wolf run too maybe?) for a few minutes is well worth the beer, imo. But if you want to attempt a full craft beer run one night and can handle VP/Keno or those limited slot games for a while and rack up some CET Tier Credits, TAG lounge at Linq is the place to go with over 200 compable beers.

    Good luck on your trip!

Car loaded up, some nebraska food for the road, heading to Des Moines to stay before our flight tomorrow. Kind of hoping I get bumped from our room since town is sold out for World Pork Expo - would get some nice marriott credit! They had to do a "platinum override" to get the room.

Husband is not impressed with the amount of baggage I have ;)

Spent the ride to Des Moines trying to barter an increase in gambling budget (hubs doesn't gamble), not successful...yet...But I have a few tricks up my sleeve (yep, sleeve, that's it).

When discussing out room at Cosmo, I mentioned maybe moving down to the 1 bedroom to be in the east tower, but then we realized it has only one bathroom. "Only one bathroom," in a hotel room, how effed up is it to even say a phrase like that!

Oh well, with all the beer drinking I expect him to do, I think 2 baths is a good call. ;). We're booked in a terrace suite, but will ask for a wraparound.

Meanwhile, now in a room with 2 double beds in Des Moines - haha Really wishing I had booked ahead, but again, thank goodness for the 48 hour guarantee with marriott! Better than the car though. : )

Pic of our bitty bed for the night. And my husband's butt ;)

Iowa beer I've never had, hubby (hereafter referred to as B for brevity ' s sake) was worried a 6 pack wasn't enough...so got him his fave ;) Going to have a drink or two and try to get a good night's sleep to rest up for the fun ahead!

And we have a mini fridge - no feigning a medical condition for this amenity (no resort fees either) - Yay iowa :D
