What casino on Boulder Highway is the best casino to stay at, gamble in, eat at, et cetera in your opinion?

    I love visiting Sam's.

Nice vibe. I have never stayed there, but I always have a car and like to visit.

    I'll second Sam's Town.
    Decent enough buffet for Breakfast
Great Steakhouse (Quality for a fair price!)
    Good Mexican restaurant
Good odds on video poker, and craps (and they have $5 minimums on all their tables)
The indoor atrium is cool (as cool as Bellagio, I think!)

The only other place worth staying at, besides Sams Town, that has good games is Boulder Station but Im not sure if you would like that place. Many shady people in the wee hours of the night. Lots of full pay vp though.

The only thing you have to worry about at Sam's Town, is getting ran over by blue hairs on scooters, on their way to BIIINGO! haha.

I prefer Sunset Station, it's not on Boulder Highway but very close.

We prefer Sams Town, mainly for a laid-back atmosphere and a great selection of the machines I like.

Buffet is one of the better cheaper ones and the line is usually tolerable.

Drink service on the floor is consistent but inconsistent. :)

Rooms are surprisingly nice. However (comma) if you like to do a power nap in the afternoon, get a room that does not face the court, as the roar from the show will wake you up.

Cannery is also a fun casino to play in.

Sam's Town fills all your needs.
For second the east side cannery has nice rooms and I would say a little cleaner, smoke and people wise. Food is less though than sam's

Actually my friends like Sam's town. they don't rent a car sometimes and Sam's has the shuttles to downtown and the strip. But then my friends gamble enough that they get comped rooms and limo service to and from the airport. Sam's is pretty convenient, has just about everything and there is a walmart across the street if you need to buy incidentals.

I don't like Sam's town because I like to be able to walk between casinos and not limit myself to one place but I started to get free offers from them so deciding whether to take them up on it. I played there in March and I guess they want to entice me with free room offers to see if I would gamble enough to be on their radar (not likely).

I visited the cannery next door and it seemed like a nice place, plus easy to walk to Sam's town. I also visited boulder station but there really isn't much in the area so I would never stay there. Sunset station is pretty far away from downtown so I would visit that area (galleria mall) but won't consider staying in the area .

Well I'd also be worrying about my vacation: if I was on vacation and just flew 2500+ miles to the land of luxury and mega resorts, home to fine dinging and great entertainment, fancy hotels and beautiful casinos... I'd be worrying about why am I staying in a little locals dump off strip

    :) :) :)

I agree with Sam's Town. Cool atrium, great video poker, a bowling alley and movie theater for some variety, and generous slot club. Also the buffet is solid for a lower-priced entry.

Another bonus, Walmart is right across the street if you want cheap room supplies.

Just came back from 3 days at Sam's town and have to say it was really nice. With a gold card offer for food I was more than pleased with Billy bobs and the rest of the food offerings. Bowling and movies were fun cheap daily diversions. Table game dealers were pleasant and every employee thanked me for what I would call standard tipping procedures. The lack of a in room safe would be the only nuisance.

If you don't mind walking a block, there's a Walgreens which is an easy walk. Takes longer to drive there than to walk. There are usually some winos and such in the Walgreens lot but the whole area (Flamingo-Boulder-Nellis) is well-lit and well-patroled.

I also second the mention of Billy Bob's. It's surprisingly good. The ice cream shop is very good too! They used to have a coffee shop but they ripped it out in favor of yet another TGIF. There was also an Italian place a few years back but that space looks like where they now have the gift shop.

    Hey Now!
Sam's Town hands down. And if you are craving the genuine dive experience- the Longhorn is just down the street across from Eastside....

    The Longhorn of course, lol!!
No, I would also say Sam's Town. Have stayed there twice now and it's always a nice slow-paced start to our holiday. I really like Sam's!

Can we figure it out from the points I accumulate during a four or five night stay? We always get a suite and Gold Card.

How many Tier points do you earn, and what do you play??
also, how long did you play there before you got a Gold Card? (after first trip, second trip, etc)
    Thanks in advance!!

The couple we often get together with at ST regularly get what they call a Silver Card. It allows comp at just about everything but Billy Bobs. They just walk up to the bar and name their drink. They've treated us to such places as the ice cream place with no issues. There was a complication for 4 of us at the buffet but the manager came in and punched a bunch of things into the register and it went through.

They play video poker and lower limit slots exclusively. Typically several hours per day each trip. They also get invited to give-away sessions where they get a free meal and some kind of a meaningful prize.

The stay at Sams Town is 4 days, the tier points were 58,000 and 52,000 last August and February . It took us about 2 stays before we got it, and we mostly play slots and blackjack. I just cant say enough about Sams Town. What a great little place.

I remember when we first went there, my wife looked on the back of the Boyd card and said "Let just go and try this place" we went and I didn't even want to go in lol. But when we did I loved it and regularly turn down MGM and TR offers for little Sams Town!! Damn shes always right. And no we aren't 70 years old, I'm 43 and the wife is 45!

    Hope this helps.
