The casino is in The Westin on Flamingo. Apparently this is where 2 Pac got shot (out in front of it).

Anyone been here or gambled here?

I've heard from VegasChatter they have $5 blackjack and craps, anyone know if it's 3:2 or anything else?

Decent comps or anything for playing there?

    Thanks!

we were there for a Red Skelton tribute show a few years ago. It was about 3 on a Saturday afternoon in September. There was literally nobody in the casino. I walked the whole thing (it wasn't very big).
couldn't believe how much of a ghost town it was.
they only had a few tables open, and the few dealers that were on kinda looked at you awkwardly when you walked by.

    it was pretty sad.

i stopped by last week to pick up some casino chips. The gaming area is really really small. Probably like 4 tables, a craps table and some slot machines.

Kinda strange to say but the gaming area looks out of place. You think of Westin, nice decor, etc, and add gaming in the middle.

I went in the morning so it could be off but nobody was gambling and there were no dealers anywhere. It was like the gaming area was closed.

I remember going with my family in 97 and 98 (for skating tournaments)
Back then it was The Maxim...and it seemed like a decent casino then (of course I was a teenager, so what did I know? LOL)

I've stopped in a couple times and echo the Ghost town comments. Several times I've stayed at the Residence Inn Hughes Center on the corner of Paradise and Flamingo and walked to the strip. The westin is on the way as is the Tuscany. Never found very many people in the Westin at any time of the day, not sure why they continue to keep the casino open.

Been there once and like it, because it was sooooooo quiet. lol. Their craps table wasn't open and it was x2 odds. This was in 2012.

I stayed there once in the 80's when it was still Maxim. Somehow we ended up in a suite that was straight out of a 70's porn movie complete with shag carpet. Tacky, but back then it was a busy fun casino with great lounge bands every night.

If I am not mistaken it is called Casuarina at the Westin. During our last trip there the place was dead like everyone else stated, we went for coffee they have a very good Starbucks inside the casino. We played late morning and actually won more on the slots there than I did in the other strip casinos. I hit for around $900.00 on some old school IGT machine. You have to cash your tickets in at the customer service desk. They don't have any ticket voucher machines, at least we didn't see any.

Been wanting to stop in here for a while. I think they used to advertise .25 roulette a few years ago and maybe even $3 BJ but I could be mistaken.

On my very first trip we ate dinner at what I think was Maxim. It was a very nice walnut-paneled casino gourmet room type of thing. We had originally wanted to do the el-cheapo prime rib special at the coffee shop but the line was nasty and was not moving.

I went back to the Maxim (and the Bourbon Street) to see if I could find this place, but nothing looked familiar.

I haven't been back since they went Westin.

You are correct, it is called Westin Casaurina.

Did they have logo $1 casino chips? The last time I visited (about a year or two ago) they didn't have $1 chips. They use coins as their $1 chips. They did have $5 chips with the westin logo.

When I did visit the place during the day the crap table was closed and the casino was relatively empty. It was a nice casino and I would stay there if the price was right (but it is never right, IMHO rates too high for an "off strip" property).

It's a C-Max chip. It's dark blue with a black center with Orange type lettering. Sorry there's a few chips on eBay for sale. Sorry typing on my phone

Nope, it's called the MAX Casino.

    http://www.westinvegas.com/las-vegas-casinos

I visit it once every other trip or so. Yes, it's usually very, very quiet. If you can get beyond that, it's a perfectly fine place to play. The blackjack dealers have been friendly. They have $3 3:2 blackjack during certain hours (it was 11 am to 5 pm last year). I play more often at Ellis Island, but once in awhile will veer off to play at Westin. It's by no means a "must do" but neither is it a "must avoid."

You and I have the same idea.

I have been a regular at Ellis island for the past few years and didn't even know The MAX existed! And I was intrigued, especially because I go with a group of guys and we like to "take over a table" so to speak, and all play. If it's dead, that's fine with us cause we bring the (low-rolling) party!

I was there two years ago on a Saturday afternoon around 3pm. There was literally no one in the casino, just the dealers. At the time, all the bj tables were $10 and craps was $5, I asked the pit to make it a $5 dollar table (low rolling for the win) and they happily did it. Wasn't a bad place to play, just very empty.
