I was playing 9/6 JOB at Gold Coast last night. My wife was playing nickels next to me. After a while I notice the straight flush is paying 239 instead of 250. I've never seen this before (or didn't notice). I ran an analysis on Winpoker and if I did it right I wasn't giving up much about .02, 99.52 vs. 99.54. Boy they are sneaky some times.

It makes sense at the $5 level, though.

Yup, that's the reason. 239 x 5 = $1195 - under the W2G / 1042S limit. That why you also sometimes see some games with say four Aces at 1199 coins on their paytable.

As others have said..it's programming for a $5 machine, to not have the player get a W2G on a 250 coin win (so they change it to 239).
Strangely enough, it's never on Quads for 250...only the Straight Flush...
Be happy that 9/6 JoB is offered in $5 denom...

It's 239 for quads on at least one MSS machine, makes 9/6 DDB 98.6%. This setup exists at the Indiana Grand racino as well.
