I'll be staying at the GN in July for about ten days. I've got a couple of shows lined up for the strip but I'd like to see some good comedy downtown. I've seen Gordie Brown and really liked him but I want to see something different. Any recommendations? Thanks in advance... :peace:

Sorry for the slight hi-jack, Mike - but I have a "Fremont Entertainment" question (for anyone):
I'm planning a June 27th arrival (Saturday) to see a band I love that is playing one of the FSE stages. Toad the Wet Sprocket (w/Tonic & Smashmouth).
Assuming Toad is the 'headliner', how late can I arrive & still catch all of Toad (I assume 90 minutes total for Tonic & Smashmouth).

I've never really paid attention to when these FSE stage shows start... and which stage would such a line-up get? Is there a bar-spot I can get to drink & watch the show while sitting?
I know that Nugget has a 2nd floor bar overlooking FSE, but that might not be where I need to be... maybe I need the 4-queens outdoor bar...I just don't know... and I don't know how early I need to be there in order to secure a prime seat at one of these outdoor bars, where I can see the appropriate stage.
I've googled, but there's almost no info on this kind of stuff.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Top, if they're playing at the first street stage go to Gold Diggers at the GN. Great view across Fremont Street of the First Street Stage. Get there about an hour before the show starts and you'll have great seats. Not sure when shows start, but I think either 8:00 or 9:00. Have fun!! :peace:

    Thanks, Mike!
I'm not certain anymore whether this trip will happen or one at the end of May... Mrs Topcard is taking a trip to San Jose in June, but she doesn't know dates yet...& we both can't be gone at the same time... so, if she's in California on 6/27, then I'll be missing this show...which means a late-May trip instead!!

A few years ago we saw Mike Hammer at the 4 Queens and really enjoyed it. I wish he had a better venue -- but then he will cost more. He does comedy magic and really involves the audience -- No one is safe. He has a great memory for names and where people are from and he pulls it up in a second. We had a ACG coupon but I have heard they pass out discount coupons before the show. -- Val

Well - I'm definitely there on 6/27... I'll be staying at Golden Gate(comped) ...if I have problems upgrading, I'll return to the Gold Coast - (who seems to be the only other casino willing to comp me a room on a Saturday night).
I will certainly try to get a seat at 'Gold Diggers' at the Nugget for watching the show...then drink very slowly!

    Mike,
We just got back from Fremont street. I had tickets I got thru Goldstar for the Adam London show at The D. They were front row seats and t6he wife ended up on stage. He's a mentalist/comedian/magic. The show was good, we had a good time...it is G rated and in the afternoon. The tickets won't break the bank and the venue is small where all the seats are good.

Best downtown comedy show for us has been people watching and spotting various "characters" under the FSE canopy...
