All the pit critters and dealers were surprised by it and most were really annoyed by the change. I guess I will see if someone else wants my play...

EDITED: For anyone who only reads the first post, I should have clarified that the "main pits" are all 6:5. Whiskey down and the pit between the craps tables and the high limit slot room remain 3:2, but they are usually $50 minimum except for off-hours. You're always free to ask the pit boss to deal you in at $25 if it's really slow. I successfully got Whiskey Down to deal me in at $25 on a Monday night when no one else was in there.

It was bound to happen. If all the casinos start to change to 6:5, players will have no choice but to grin and bear it. What are gamblers gonna do... not play?

    Thanks for the update.

Just so I'm clear: 100% of BJ tables NOT in the HL room pay 6:5?

This is big. MGM routinely had some of the best low-to-mid minimum tables in town.

Free bet probably still pays 3:2.

WELL THIS BLOWS!!!!!!!! Just another reason to stay downtown? However even that has seen it's share of 6/5. I hope not all MGM properties go to 6/5. I enjoy playing at Aria out on the main floor!!!!!!!!

probably a company wide edict. Would be strange for just one of the properties to change, and not the others as well.

Is this restricted to certain minumums? What about in Whiskey Down and the tables just outside the HL slots?

that sucks, most of the time they had a really good $25 3:2 S17 table going which rivaled the bally's table

Is all the low stake ($25 and down) blackjack 6:5 or just some experimental tables ?

What is the confirmation of this? Has anyone seen this in action? Is this just word of mouth? Is the sky falling?

    The Mansion is still 3:2.

Apparently in the 60s after Thorp's "Beat the Dealer" came out, the casinos tried to mess with the rules to a degree where they drove a lot of players from the game and thus brought the old rules back, but used other measures (such as going to multiple decks) to protect the house.

Which casinos have gone all 6/5 on their main floors? I've heard Venetian, Palazzo, possibly Monte Carlo, possibly Mirage, and now possibly MGM. Anyone confirm the "possiblies" and do you know of any others?

Most CET properties are moving in that direction, but some of them had crappy rules to begin with, like no DAS or only doubling on 10 and 11.

Just to let you know, they try these things at the Beau before rolling out to Vegas properties.

They've had H17 at the Beau even in the HL room for years. Won't be long till it's that way in Vegas.

They tried out a couple of 6:5 tables in the HL room recently as well.

    It's inevitable.

I haven't read anything about CET changing for the worse recently. And some of the things I have read were changes for the better (e.g. Bally's High Limit). CET is gradually starting to look better every time an MGM property decides to take a dump on their main pit games.

Take a look at Cromwell or the Linq. I think nearly all their games are 6:5 outside. Does Bally's now offer DAS?

Not sure of that...But S17 at $25 min. is a big deal for CET. And yeah, Cromwell/Linq are the worst of the two. But I think most of the other places have 3:2 H17 at the $15 level at least, if not $10. I don't play much BJ though, I'm just going from what I've read on here mainly.

If you're playing blacks, MGM properties are still probably going to be better because they will allow things like DAS.

I should have clarified. The pit closer to the high limit room (typically $50-100 minimum) and whiskey down are still 3:2. Consensus is abject horror and disgust from all dealers and pit critters

The confirmation is me being here and speaking with numerous of the dealers and pit bosses that I have relationships with
