Bellagio - first time

I'm changing venues for my July trip. I'm usually MB/Delano/4S. Got killed at MB last visit so I thought I'd change it up. What do I need to know about Bellagio? Any tips on rooms/food/gaming is much appreciated.

 

Well, not having any idea hat you play or like to do, here is my quick list of god things to do or see at Bellagio: of course watch the fountain show. I like it at night and day, so watch each. I also very much like the conservatory, but recommend going either very early or very late. It gets crazy crowded during the day and evening. Noodles serves my favorite dim sum on the Strip. And check out the refurbished sports book. It is one of the better ones on the Strip

 

I'm a craps player. $15 passline with max odds. I play some slots too. Mostly Top Dollar $5 or Pinball if I can find it. The room is comped and I have no idea as to what to expect. Is there a specific room number (odd or even) to be on the fountain side?

 

I agree about the conservatory late at night. You should still see it during the day but late at night after it basically closes is peaceful in a way. I go to the Conservatory on every Vegas trip, even when I've stayed downtown.

Also, there's a nice little gelato shop, Cafe Gelato, which is great if you want a little afternoon pick me up.

The Baccarat Bar is nice for a cocktail and there is a pianist there. I have never gone to Petrossian Bar but I plan on this next trip and it looks quite nice.

 

Craps scene is fun at Bellagio. The tables are at a major intersection that the entire casino has to walk by. Makes for great people watching while you play.

Olives is my favorite place to grab a drink, the bartenders there know their stuff. Food is good too, and if you can snag a seat on the patio it's one of the best places to see the fountain show.

I've never stayed there so can't offer advice on rooms, but their website lists rack rates for Fountain View Rooms, so there you go.

 

Pork potstickers at noodles are awesome. So is the oxtail soup.

Spaghetti bolognese at the bellagio cafe is also legit.

 

Based on my last trip - don't try and impress the hookers by max betting a nickel Willy Wonka slot. Apparently, that's not very impressive to them.

I do love walking through and playing a little at the Bellagio, though. It's really a laid back, cool, classy place. I'm surprised they let me in...

 

I also have had good meals at Noodles. The Cafe Bellagio also has a good breakfast. I think you will enjoy your stay.

 

-the craps crews are some of the best on the strip IMO, and the tables are a lot of fun
-fantastic cocktails at Lily
-after a long night at the tables, I would hit Jean Philppe Patisserie for a breakfast bagel and coffee (or a beer from the sundries shop across from it) and take it and sit and look at the conservatory. It was a nice way to relax

Baccarat bar at night - Danny and Richard excellent bartenders, especially richard, knows it's all re: drinks. Wroking girl action always fun to take in
Sports book - check out new video/interactive tables in there (and the bar for that matter)
Food, cafe very good (filet excellent) and Snacks - by sports book also very good - chicken quesadillas, excellent
Hyde - well, yet another ultra loung thing with BS drink prices but if you get in, head outside to patio to watch fountain show and kick back
Craps table, as already mentioned, they can be jumping at night!!
Assume in the Bellagio Tower - out of elevators, turn right and head for coffee place in AM (will be on your left, couple 100 feet))
Whether you 'pool' or not, gotta stop and see, Great layout, also restaurant out there for breakfast and lunch
Conservatory - another vote for. What they do there and how they do it, damn...
Speaking of Towers - suggest you avoid the Spa tower, great rooms but further to walk to/from casio and if you get fountain view, not as good from there at all

Used to be the best place on the strip

now I'll never stay there again.

Anyone ever see a drunk jump into the fountains? To my surprise, Ive never witnessed such a thing.

As for gaming, the craps tables are legit. As I wager 15 P/L... 45 odds with an ocassional Come, You'll see thousands of dollars in action on every roll, and CAN be quite fun.

 

I've only stayed at the Bellagio once back in the 90's when if first open. It was ok but I still like Caesar's more. I do like the Baccarat Bar and the high limit Baccarat tables but I think Aria has taken most of the players away.

 

The High Limit slots are the busiest on the strip for a reason if that's your thing. However I while playing in there a few years back I watched a guy on a $1000 slot go through $50K without hitting a single pay. At least his beer was free.

 

I have never stayed at Bellagio but i frequent the place every day i'm in Vegas, usually 5 or 6 days at a time.
I agree with previous posters about Jean Philppe Patisserie's place, yummy. Also, the conservatory is something i do in the early afternoon and late evening. Different vibes, and i'm sure they still have music at about 5 pm playing jazz. I always like to hang around the Gardens for the beauty, taking pics, and enjoying the music. I do the same outside with the Fountains. It's Lake Como in the middle of Times Square.
Bellagio is Serene...........once you get past Flamingo Blvd on the north, and Bellagio Dr. on the south........it's Mayhem.

 

Been going there since day one (almost), continues to be an excellent hotel and casino. Shifter must have gone off his meds or let's see if he can quantify his comments.

 

Not just Shifter, nowadays its not even a contender for the best place on the strip. They still have some excellent restaurants though.

 

I don't care for Bellagio. Checking in can be a traumatizing, exhausting experience due to the crowds coming through the lobby, and then the casino can be a snoozer at night ... It's a weird mix. The rooms are plush though, and the fountains are mesmerizing.

 

I do think it's lost a little of its luster ever since it was taken over by MGM but still my all around fav. I always play well there, great restaurants. The Petrossian Bar is a great people watching spot.
