    My Trip Report

It's finally time for the yearly guys trip to Mecca! This year seems a little off as things have been so crazy busy at work that I haven't had the time to be my normal degenerate self the past month or so (though i did just make it through Tbone's TR :nworthy:). This will be the 10th year for this trip that started as we all began getting married, using Vegas as it's proper use of bachelor parties. A lot has happened in the past 10 years, City center was just a pipe dream, 6:5 Blackjack was a rarity instead of the norm, and I was a mid 20's guy who never thought he would get married. Well things change and we are now officially old married guys with kids holding on to one week a year to act like teenagers again. The first year we did this trip we had 16 guys, since then it has steadily declined to 12, then 8, and now we have a new low of just 6 guys, of which 2 are newbs. To be honest I don't mind the smaller group, as its easier to coordinate and much easier to find places to watch the games. Over the years our group has moved all over the country. This year will be the first solo flight in, so hoping to get started on the right foot with some semi-live updates throughout the travel day.

Flight leaves at 12:30 on Wed afternoon with a layover in Denver putting me touching down at 5:00 Vegas time. I should be the second to arrive and hope to make it in for the yearly Diamond lounge tour, which has been a staple the last several years. This is the first year that I have been one of the Diamonds in the group, though having reaped the rewards for years does take a little off of it. Home base as it's been for the past 4 years will be PHO, we like the vibe and being center strip.

My plan (I know, many try and most fail) is to try and keep up with some sort of semi-live updates, will be mostly photos. I must admit it may get repetitive as we are creatures of habit, days typically consist of Drink, watch basketball, drink, play blackjack, drink, some slots, drink, play blackjack, and oh yes... drink.

I decided to start this thread as a way to help with packing. I think I'm good to go right?

    Wait i forgot something...

Yes, now I'm ready for sure!

In all seriousness if anyone has any good suggestions I'm all ears. The Pedialyte suggestion that I picked up here a couple years ago has been nothing short of a life saver.

    3 sleeps til Vegas

    What's in that plastic bottle?

Does the Pedialyte powder work better if poured into vodka or rum?

I also learned about Pedialyte from this board, and I was surprised that all the college kids seem to know about it.
Had my first dose at the Dec 1 party with Packer, mixed with vodka.

This reminds me of the time a few years ago when I had the bartender at Joe's Stone Crabs at Caesar's make me a shooter out of a Five-Hour Energy. That worked like a charm. I don't remember anything else other than that.

Here's our go to drink before going out drinking.

Goose, five hr energy, emergenC, pineapple juice, and seltzer. Tastes great and gets you going.

First loss of the trip, connecting flight delayed an hour in Denver, now have a 3 hr layover. Oh well, drink up. En route to first flight.

Best of luck on this trip - hope you tear it up and have a blast.

I have absolutely no idea where you are - but driving from DTW to my sister's house (through Auburn Hills) there used to be Exit 69 - Big Beaver Road. :)

Beer selection pretty limited at the airport, but shocktop is refreshing before noon.

Of course it had to be exit 69... somebody was chuckling as they submitted that for approval.
