thanks for the shoe porn! Call your local store once the red sole starts to wear off with use and ask them if they can recommended a cobbler who will make the sole red again

It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. The ones I bought were $675, but saw some crazy ones that were upwards of $1200.
That said, I bought 3 more pairs of shoes - 1 at Michael kors and 2 at Cole Haan.....all sensible heels & flats though. Another $535 plus taxes.

I walked into the Barney's New York. One pair of flat Mahnolo Blahnik's were $975. Then I didn't feel so bad for the 4 pairs I did get.......

OK I just checked my wife's shoe closet. She has a closet just for shoes and there a lots of boxes of Manolo Blahnik with shoes it them. Did not see any red sole Louboutin's so is that a good thing or bad thing? I know nothing about shoes. Good thing she does all my shopping.

I just find new clothes in my closet. I gas and maintain the cars and she maintains the house and clothes shopping. I still don't get women with their shoes and hand bags.

Good job VC... always good to come home with Gifts and cash. Did you get anything for Mr. VC?

We have one of those custom made closets in our bedroom. One side of the shelves part is all my wife's purses! And she has a whole section for her shoes. Between her purses and shoes, I think the value of them purchased is as high as my retirement funds lol. Can you guess what section I have in the closet? It starts with a d*awe*rs and one ra*k lol.

Well, I think the Lou's are usually pretty high heels. The Manolo Blahnik's were made crazy popular once Carrie Bradshaw was wearing them all the time on the show Sex and the City. In Vancouver the Lou's were all sold out at xmas (apparently stock is very low at xmas and bridal season), so hubby was suggesting I get the iconic one's that the show made popular.....they are a royal blue satin high heel. Very nice, but the practical side of me kicked in and I struggled at where I would be wearing Royal Blue Satin shoes, lol. I think your wife is doing just fine with a closet full of them.....and if you haven't gone broke buying them, then no damage done - hehe....you're good pphold....no need to ask her about it, lol!

The part I don't understand about the shoes is the heel on a lot of them, and the women who buy them. I agree they look sexy on the shelf, but if they put them on and most can't walk in them, I don't think they look very sexy.....or maybe I'm just old!

If she's been buying expensive shoes for years then she may have phased out Louboutin's. They are usually the first "expensive" shoe purchase for women who go that route...or she simply never liked them.

Manolo was also the "it" Sex and the City shoe designer

She was right in that the shoe you got has been selling fast

We did get something for Mr Vc too! One of the things Mr VC enjoys, as we now know, is scotch. He has a buddy who hosts a boys scotch night every Friday the 13th.....happens to be one this Friday! They like to find bottles that are unique and not found just at the local liquor stores. As we were walking to brunch on Saturday, we came across a store called Vom Fass at V/P. They had many different liqueurs and whiskey - you could try samples of everything in the store. As the clerk helped Mr VC find one he liked, she explained the history of the bottles, but I wandered into another big section where they had rows of oils and vinegars. They were also available for tasting. I'm not a scotch drinker, but do a lot of cooking and entertaining. He chose a bottle, and I did get some oil & vinegars including some for my sis. Their customer service was very good as they were able to wrap it for travel and have it sent to the bell desk so we didn't have to lug it around. Pics to follow-

Playing VP near book and stage and watching women walk barefoot at 3 am holding their heels is a fun pastime of mine.

    Exactly!
We were strolling through the V/P and a group of young girls walked by. One of them had these huge white platform shoes on, but she was walking like frankenstein trying to move these shoes. I don't get it.

So now we make our way over to the MJ One show. UKfanatic was right - loved the show, I'd happily see that one again. For those that are interested, the seating chart can be a bit confusing......I'll explain as best I can. When I went to buy the tix, the usually more expensive seats at the front were cheaper than the ones further back. We did end up going with the most expensive tix, and the system picked up the very last row in the centre section for our particular seats. If you were right at the front, it would likely be hard to get a full sense of everything going on. Along each side of the theatre there are big video screens - if you are too close you wouldn't be able to see the sides without turning each way. In front of those screens there are ramps that are occasionally used in the show so sitting a little further back does give a more inclusive view of everything going on. As well there are sometimes performers coming down from the ceiling - again, if you were right in the front you would have to turn to see them. That said, I wouldn't take the very last row again. I felt that the row immediately in front of us didn't tier down as much as it did further down as you neared the stage, and the seats are large comfy ones. Especially for shorter people it still may not be the best view. Having seen the show now, I'd try and get seats about 2/3's of the way back from the stage in the middle section for best viewing.
