Is it OK to stay at one property in a system and play at the other?

I recently booked a comped weekend at Planet Hollywood from a Total Rewards offer, but I'm going to be spending a good chunk of time with friends who are staying elsewhere on the strip. If I put in my usual play mostly (or even entirely) at a casino that is still in the CET system but stay at PH, is this going to be seen poorly by their system?

It is my understanding that this is allowable for CET properties. mLife, not so much.

If you didn't book through a host, you are fine. CET looks at your total play across all casinos. I do this every trip.

Even if you book through a host, you're still fine. CET hosts look at all the properties, although it's a little more work for them.

Appreciate the responses all. This is indeed a CET offer, and not booked through a host (just a TR website offer). In all honesty I'll probably play at PH plenty, but it's good to know I can bounce around to accommodate friends or just get a change of scenery without compromising future offers.

Yes, CZR play can be at any of their resorts when in their Las Vegas market. No problem staying at PH and then playing at Rio or Harrah's while staying there. Here's the catch. They market to where you play. So if you play at Harrah's instead of PH you may find that your future offers for free rooms on your next trip are all at Harrah's and not at PH. If that's not a problem, just enjoy yourself. NOTE: Other CZR markets are not like this. For instance, if you are in Atlantic City and stay at Caesars but play at Harrah's they do not combine the play with the stay. If fact, in Atlantic City, if you play the same day at 2 different properties, say Caesars and Harrah's, they will actually count it as two separate trips. Very f*cked. At least LV still makes sense...one company, choose to play at whichever property you wish and theyll combine all the play into one 'trip'.

MLIFE is brutal for this. My buddy who is going to Vegas with me next week is a GOLD Mlife member and does most of his gambling at Bellagio. He gets comp'd whatever nights he wants at Bellagio but prefers to stay at Mandalay Bay, where he actually has to pay something (not a lot, but still something) for rooms.

CET is the way to go. It's nice to not be locked down to one hotel. Some trips I like staying at PH, some the Linq, and I'd love to stay at Caesars. It's nice that my play at one will help me earn free nights at others, should I choose to move hotels my next trip.

Not sure if this is 100% correct. I go to AC often and have asked my hosts before to ensure that it doesn't matter where I play at AC, my play still counts. The room offers on TR are usually all the same for the different properties, with maybe a few exceptions. But if you see a room offer for one property, whether it be in AC and/or LV, it's usually interchangeable and can be applied for the other properties,.

I hope the thing about AC isn't correct because I always stay at Harrah's (which is nicer) and play at BOTH Caesars and Harrah's. I did it a few weeks ago and somehow my offers got better and thus I am going back next Friday.

I don't believe Mlife is that brutal with that anymore. Nowadays you receive offers through your Mlife account for multiple resorts in Vegas (we could use our Spring offer at Mirage, NYNY, Monte Carlo, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excal and MGM). Even my host at Monte Carlo said my play is good at any Mlife resort. Only my play at MC will be logged under his account.
