    My Trip Report

Heading for the airport in about an hour, flying Virgin America for the first time. Been sweating out the weather as usual, we were having a nice easy winter, then BAM!

    Staying at:
    • MGM Grand (2 nights comp, $125 FreePlay, $100 Resort Credit),
    • Cosmo for the first time ($818 for 4 nights Terrace Suite on their 33% off rate, not including tax & resort fee)
    • Caesars (Forum Tower, 5 nights comped, 2 at $72, $125 in Freeplay and $125 Resort Credit, plus picking up a $100 Diamond dinner voucher).

Will see if there's any kind of meetups tonight (Sat 1/31), and hoping to make it over to the Trop Sunday night to watch the Cleo II group pull (sounds kinda dirty). I'll try to video that and post it in that thread.

Only locked in things on the agenda are Jubliee at Bally's and dinner at Giada middle/end of the week.

Boosted the bankroll by a couple of grand with some successful quickie trades in the market the last couple of weeks. First half of the trip will be more or less a normal trip, second half at Caesars will be solo degen.

Will be interesting to see what kind of room I end up with at MGM, VIP Services says they booked me an Executive King, but arriving the middle of the afternoon on Sat before the Super Bowl, I'm not so sure.

Have a Terrace Suite booked at Cosmo at a very good price and I'll be looking to upgrade to a Wraparound on the primo northeast corner of the East Tower for ~$350 for Mon - Thurs nights. If they don't have that location available or won't do that price, I'll be fine with the Terrace Suite.

We'll see if the wristband is lucky or not.

Whoops, wrong thread. :grrr: Mods please move to Trip Reports...

That's a nice long trip; my kind of Vegas trip! Have a fabulous time! Depending on when you arrive you might get an upgrade comped at Caesars too. Good luck and have a great trip!

Had to re-up my LOC at MGM, did so.

Took $125 in freeplay and converted to $100.

Took the $3,100 and pounded the Davinci Diamonds $1 machine at 20 lines outside the high limit at MGM Grand. The bonuses suck, but the regular lines sometimes pay OK. Many many zero payouts and many high 3 figure payouts.

I suggest playing the double davinci diamonds. It has paid much better for me than the regular one.

While I was cleaning up on Davinci, there was a $50 BJ table behind me getting no action, but the dealer was enjoying my run. So when I cashed out, I went over there to play a couple of hands, shift change so she didn't get the direct benefit, but played one hand, bet for the dealer, got 2 Aces, split 'em and got BJ on one and 18 on the other vs dealer 17.

    So far:
    $125 freeplay converted to $100
    + $1,000 on Davinci
+ $150 (and $100 dealer tip) on one hand of BJ

    WRISTBAND WORKS!

Woke up early Sunday and decided to try and beat up on DaVinci again, disaster, lost the $1,000 winnings and another $1,000 on top of that, in probably 45 mins. Was just as cold as it had been hot the night before. So minus $1,000 at MGM, but got a ton of coin-in.

Watched the game and then just played off the freeplay I had earned this tip.

All checked in to Cosmo, stuck with the Terrace Suite instead of going for the Wraparound. Gonna head down shortly and see if they have any $10 craps.

Found a 9/6 STP triple play $0.25 VP Double Bonus machine at Cosmo (tring, tell me if that's bad, the JOB was like 7/5, which tells me it probably wasn't very good). Lost about $150 in short order with only a couple of low STP triggers on which I hit not a penny.

Gave it up and went searching for a decent $1 slot, was really looking for a Double Diamond 800/1600, but the best I could find was a Triple Diamond 1,000/2,500. Did well at first at $1, then bumped it to $2 and went well for a while, then a bad drought, was about ready to stop the beating to give it up, (was $250 down, including the STP) when

    BOOM!

    7 - Triple Diamond - Triple Diamond, so $400 x 3 x 3:

I'm enjoying Cosmo so far, especially with the handpay.

I'm on the 22nd floor of the West Tower, so about 1/3 of the way up. You can barely hear the fountain music, you really have to strain to hear it, but the view is great as long as you're standing up. Love seats and ottomans at each end, but the glass front of the balcony is filthy.

Have both slider doors open and not really worried about smoking. Room has two sets of loveseats and ottomans and an ashtray at each, so they know what the deal is. Got both sliders open and smoking with impunity :Þ

Terrace Suite - Almost no clothes storage space, similar to THEhotel - a good sized closet, but then no chest of drawers or anything, just a stack of shelves in the closet. A little extra furniture in the bedroom, I moved out of the way. Feels spacious.

Players club, cage, bell, front desk, housekeeping all very friendly and accommodating so far.

Slot handpay, they did the usual tag team, the guy who actually did the transaction was clearly a trainee, but he did OK and got the $20 tip with his supervisor watching and hoping for a sucker.

$20 charge for receiving groceries from Vons, which the Vons guy knew about. I asked the bell guy if he gets it and he said no. He kinda hedged, so I know they probably get about 1/2, but I tipped him $5 anyway, for future considerations.

Nice hit on the Triple Diamond!!

With DB games, you also need to look at the straight as sometimes it is 5

Before adding STP in (which adds another 0.28%) or Double STP (an extra 0.50%)...paytables you might find at Cosmo for the quarter level look like this in decending order...

    7/5 Bonus (98.01%)
    9/5 DDB (97.87%)
    9/6/5 DB (97.81%)
    20/12/10/4/4/3 Deuces (97.68%)
    8/5 Boner Deluxe (97.40%)
    8/5 JoB (97.30%)
    6/5 Bonus (96.87%)
    8/5 DDB (96.79%)
    25/16/13/4/3/2/2 Deuces (96.77%)
    9/6/4 DB (96.38%)
    7/5 Boner Deluxe (96.25%)
    7/5 JoB (96.15%)

And try not to play anything worse than that...please.

I'm guessing it's the 9/6/4 DB version, and if it is, I would check to see if 8/5 DDB is an option. Some better paying options for STP...wanker said he found 8/5 Jacks w/Double STP in his TR, and 7/5 Bonus used to exist at Double STP quarters when I was there last, but he didn't find that. :( Hope you run better on that...love me some VP porn!

Two weeks, man lucky but my liver hurts thinking of two weeks in vegas! I do not know if I can throttle down the madness!

Yes the double stp is 8/5 jacks at the the machines close to main walkway closer to the front desk. And yes I believe they are 9/6/4 but not 100% I could not find the 7/5 bonus anywhere unless I missed a machine tucked away.

Either way great handpay and glad you enjoyed cosmo look forward to the rest of the report!

    Nice hand pay, Chuck!

Two weeks would be a dream but I don't know if I could pace myself in Vegas!
