I was thinking of trying out the Linq for a trip in Mar but since I was thinking of renting a car I would like to know about parking there. I know it's center strip so access from the strip might be a pain in the butt. Is the valet out front? Is there self parking available here and is it accessible from behind the hotel?

Sounds like a good plan on the weekend. And yes access to Self Park is behind the hotel. Self Park is bad there on the weekends because it's an old style garage with support posts everywhere, so people often park in 2 spaces to avoid the posts and the garage gets full quick.

I answered my own question with google

Directions: To get to the parking garage, take Flamingo Rd. East exit, turn left on Koval Road then left at the sign for The LINQ Hotel & Casino parking.
Oversized parking: is available in our back lot located off Koval Rd. RV's are welcome, however, no hook-ups are available. If you need assistance, please contact the hotel at (702) 731-3311.

There is a garage but it's a crappy one. I got into the habit of parking at Harrah's and walking over.

Agreed, the garage leaves something to be desired!

That's the best thing to do.

If it happens to be raining you will be stuck if you park in the Linq garage (I almost typed IP...)

I agree completely. When it was the IP their garage was more of a maze, not easy going around to find a parking space. Even though I stayed at the IP I usually parked at Harrahs. The Harrahs up ramp usually ended up on the same level as the bypass to get to the IP (hope it is still there). I saved a lot of time parking there instead of fighting for a parking space at the IP/Linq.

Yeah, definitely don't park there when it rains. I stayed away from the Linq area on Mon. Sept. 8th until the rain ended.
