So how you think it was this year? Was it less crowded than in previous years? The problem this year is that many of my friends went to the CES but because the AVN expo was 2 weeks after the CES they went home and didn't go to it. In previous years the AVN expo was the week after the CES so we would usually go to both.

But then lately the AVN hasn't been that great IMHO. The rooms were small and not as many vendors as when it was at the Sands expo. And lately they don't give many freebies as in years past, not many free t shirts and novelties unless you are there at the right time, nowadays you may have to buy their slicks or photos to get an autograph, etc. I know on the fan days (thurs and fri) when they open the auditorium the place is a total nuthouse (packed crowds going down each aisle, can't turn around or go anywhere other than with the flow, etc.) but I usually shy away on those days (hate the crowds).

I'm lucky, I own a "business" so I can go in with the trade show people all day Wednesday and early thurs and Friday. I usually leave by Friday afternoon because it is too crowded for my taste. I usually go every 2 or 3 years, I went to the 2014 expo, skipped this years one and will have to see for 2016. I will probably attend the CES but if the AVN expo is 2 weeks after I may also skip that one.

images.jpeg This was my first time attending the expo but certainly will not be my last. I picked up a 3 day all access press pass from a nice fellow on Craigslist for $120.
The expo was busy but I would not call it overcrowded there were a few bottlenecks but I moved about freely.
The ladies were cute and friendly gladly posing for photos and signing items for one and all it was quite a jovial atmosphere. Not many giveaways as many seemed to be independent entrepreneurs promoting themselves and their videos and services although most gave personalized glossies or posters their genuine friendliness surprised me. The bars were abundant and many were openly indulging in their favorite bud with security nearby and approving. Many regular lady enthusiasts were also present with all having a good time. The vendors were discounting big time and not pushy at all. Met many local young ladies helping at the booths. Do try it sometime I thought it would be fun but actually it was awesome in all aspects.

Yes, for a first timer it would be awesome. Beautiful porn starlets everywhere. So much T & A to see.

For some of us it is much different than years past. In years past they would be throwing out t shirts to everyone (guess I should save my old t shirts), sometimes even giving out free stuff like vibrators, "flesh" lights (the girl in the white pic has one of them) and other goodies. In years past the girls were also more "frisky", giving us some free shows of their "goodies", some even parading around nude or hopping on a......well, you get the drift. Unfortunately because of the censors they no longer are supposed to show any of their "privates" although some still sneak a quick peek.

IMHO, the expo lately seems more "commercial" with even the girls trying to make a buck off of everything they have to sell. But you had to have been there to understand how it was in the "old" days, lol. :evillaugh

Thanks for showing some pics of the show, always great to see.

If she wore a tube top and a matching mini skirt, then did cartwheels, you wouldn't be able to tell which was her ass!

I think the crowds were slightly down this year. It was very easy to get around the floor, except for a few ridiculous bottlenecks in the Joint where only one person could pass through at a time. The trade hours were less this year, which was good in a way as the Joint was open for the whole AEE and that is where most of the girls were signing. The 8pm finishing time on the Wed to Friday was a great idea, but with only six hours on the Saturday and no show on the Sunday, they lost a lot of potential fan hours.

More big studios have stopped having a booth or have reduced their booth size considerably - eg, Adam and Eve, Digital Playground, Wicked, Elegant Angel and Evil Angel. The only studios with a major presence were Jules Jordan, Girlfriend Films, Burning Angel and Archangel. Most of the girls were signing for agencies and/or AEBN or AVN. Lots of webcam girls.

No freebies to speak of - although Penthouse had a cool booth where you could pose for a free professional photo with the current month's Penthouse Pet in front of a Green Screen and get a printout of the photo on a mock-up cover of Penthouse Magazine.

I am finding that I am spending less and less time on the floor of AEE. But I still go to various parties and hang at the HRH bars and have a great time with friends that week each year.

MrSandsman, thanks for your review of the expo. I was wondering if it was worth it this year. A lot of my friends had to make a choice, go to the CES or the AEE. Most of them went to the CES but not the AEE, mostly because the shows were a couple of weeks apart (unlike previous years where the shows were the week after) and they didn't want to go home and come back for the other show. I would have expected the AEE to be less crowded because they lost the CES crowd (IMHO probably a thousand at least). Hope next year and in future years they have the AEE expo the week after the CES so we can attend both shows.

I really didn't pay attention to flyers with the show hours (since I knew I wasn't going to attend). What were the hours of the show for trade and the fan hours? One web site said that the show was from Wed 3 - 10 pm (8 pm?), Thurs and Fri 1 - 8 pm and Sunday 12 - 4 pm (I can't check the AVN site because my work place restricts access). I know that Wed is usually the trade day (no fans), hopefully that hasn't changed. Also hope that thurs and fri they allowed more hours for trade (like 1 - 3pm or 12 - 3pm) people since I don't like to stay during the fan hours. I usually just went during the trade hours and was gone the first few hours into the fan hours (I didn't even attend the Saturday day since it was a total nut house in previous years). I heard that they dropped Sunday because many of the stars would attend the AVN awards and the after show parties so weren't able to get up to do Sunday (in addition to packing and checking out).

I'm also glad that they opened up the Joint for the whole AEE show. There really wasn't enough room in that room with the booths so good that they opened up the Joint so they could hold more girls for us to meet. I heard that the booths were smaller or some companies didn't even have a booth because of the price. Prices for booths have risen the past few years so the smaller companies couldn't afford to have one, instead walking around with their product. In previous years the whole Joint was virtually impassable during the fan hours and wall to wall people so if you were able to navigate without encountering too many bottlenecks then there must have been less people attending.

I will miss the freebies they used to give out, guess I should save all my t-shirts from all the companies (better not gain weight or I won't fit into them, ha ha).

I agree with you though, while many fans may like visiting the AEE, many of us who previously attended aren't as keen to attend (or maybe we're just getting old?) as in previous years.

    Thanks again for your insights!

Now, the big thing is when the 2016 AEE show will be. If they have it weeks apart from the CES then many of us may/will not attend.

Deadeye, thanks for your photos also! If you google 2015 AVN photos you can also bring up other photos from the show.

The trade hours were significantly reduced this year - you basically only got one or two hours each day before it opened up to fans. I wasn't there on the Wednesday this year, so not sure of the exact hours that day but know that most of the opening day was for fans rather than trade only.

They had a new arrangement this year where they set up trade only suites in one of the Hotel towers where they had the toy expo, which I suppose justified the trade only hours on the show floor being much reduced.

Yes, I would prefer it if AEE followed straight after the CES. There is always a special buzz in the air in Vegas when it is packed around CES time.
