Hello all,we are coming in Feb 5th. I want to go to a bar and drink that has a great view, one that has the open bar that I read about. Are those good deals?
Why are the bars only open till midnight on Fri and sat?

Mix is our favorite as well. I too have not heard of 12 midnight closings???? The Foundation room is also a good one, we prefer the vibe of Mix though.

The Mandarin Bar at Mandarin Oriental has great views of the strip in both directions. Look at images on Google under "Mandarin Bar." Drinks are pricey though. It's on the 23rd floor, and the restaurant, "Twist," is on the same floor. No casino in the building, but Aria and Cosmopolitan are close by.

I prefer the Foundation Room at MB to Mix, but they are both great.

Eiffel Tower restaurant has a nice bar. They probably close by midnight, though.

If you head to Rio, Ghostbar is open late and has a great view.

Both offer great Strip views, but our experience is the drinks are stronger at Foundation Room - at least for top shelf margaritas.

Voodoo at Rio has a great view, it's off the strip so you get a fantastic panoramic view from Mandalay Bay at one end to the Stratosphere at the other. Downtown can also be seen on a clear day

Open as in no glass barriers and fresh air or open past midnight? Someone is pulling your leg on the 'open till midnight' thing.

    What others have said.
I like them all for different reasons
Depends on a few things, do you want a vista? Voodoo Lounge & Ghost Bar
Do you want on the strip view? Foundation, Mix, Level 107,
Do you want open and near street level?

Mandarin is legit. If you're there sort of early they have a kitchen with appetizers as well. If you come hungry, be careful with their wasabi peanuts, a bunch of those plus whiskey makes for a bad time when you have to burp.

We like the 107th lounge at the Stratosphere at dusk for their happy hour (2-4-1) and watch the city come alive as the sun sets. Then we go upstairs to the observation deck (no admission fee) if we want to go outside.
