I had booked two corporate offers with CET, with a 72hour window staying at MGM in between offers. I am a Platinum with TR for what it's worth. The first offer was 2250 in FP, the second was $1000 Southwest Airlines gift card and $1250 in casino play. I claimed the first offer no problem. When I came back to claim the second offer after the 72 hour window (you only need 48 officially), they told me I hadn't played enough in the last twelve months so they werent going to honor the offer they had sent me, and gotten me to fly out to Vegas for essentially reneging on the offer.

That's the last time I give them any action ever again, and I warn everyone on this board if you "don't play enough" they will dishonor your offers too. No wonder they're in bankruptcy and going down the toilet.

That really sucks I have not booked a back to back with the 72 hour window but I have booked and gave zero play. So what is CET going to do Sorry you didn't play enough so we are not going to honor the second trip???

Good thing I double book at different properties.

That may have been the problem. I booked both offers at the same CET property.

Wow, that's awful - so sorry, I would have been really disappointed!
I thought it was okay to book at any property so long as you had the 72 hours between offers.

Did they allow the room comp, or cancel the entire booking on the second reservation?

I was very upset, but not surprised given how they treat their employees, and now the way they treat their customers too. As far as I know the "comped" room- with their outrageous resort fees- was still honored, however I took my stuff and got out of there for another property/company for obvious reasons.

just curious, where did you end up staying instead?
I wonder if you can salvage the relationship with a host... or chalk it up to a burnt bridge and not look back.

I just cant get comfortable at a CET property. For some reason when I play there I get frustrated quickly and don't enjoy myself.

That is just plain wrong. Even if booking the second offer was a mistake, it was their mistake. In this case it wasn't and they literally changed the rules midstream.

You definately got a bad deal from CET. Was your host no help in fixing the problem?

I do not deal with "hosts" or whatever they call them now at CET as I have found them to be no help because CET has become so corporatized. That being said I spoke to the one on duty who essentially told me too bad, in fact he even had the audacity to invoked the "management has the right to alter the rules at anytime" fine print rule, not that I was surprised.

I feel your pain N8, as you know they pulled this shit with me as well. I hate to say it, but with so many of us getting the shaft here I kinda feel better about how they treated me. Misery loves company and it appears CET has sent many people into my boat up shits creek.

I just looked over my credit card statement and it looks like CET charged me the resort fees for the full two nights. I told them after they reneged on the offer, I was checking out, and I did not want to be charged any resort fees and the front desk associate said that would be no problem and spoke to a manager. Now they're just putting salt in the wound, and I intend to fight this with my bank.

Look at this question CET sent on a survey for my recent stay at Harrahs AC...

Such a bizarre thing to ask. I checked off "strongly disagree". :Þ

Funny. I've had those questions on their surveys I've filled out. It just shows how out of touch they are with their customers. The answer is a resounding HELL NO

Why am I the only one not worked up about this issue? Could it be because an AP(maybe not but applies here) got busted trying to overbook a teaser offer. If you were currently platinum for 2014 with no reasonable established history you have no right to bitch when they questioned you "expecting" 5k+ in offers that only is allowed with the highest level clientele. If you weren't trying to take advantage of the situation this would not be an issue.

If you want to argue the ability to book multiple offers similar to these within a short period of time, that is a whole different story but to see you constantly complaining about CET the last week is bordering on craziness. You got busted and if your play the first part of the trip was on the level allowable with the 2nd offer this would not have been a problem.

You are not alone. I am not convinced that CET was the bad guy here, or that they are playing games with anyone.. SO FAR.

This particular situation can be read a few different ways.

Agreed. There are a lot of CET haters out there. Blah blah blah resort fees.
But I do think if they allowed a booking with an offer, that should not have been pulled. Ift was a mistake, allow it, and pull future offers.

CET has historically offered free rooms to micro/low rollers. They changed their policy.....too bad. Other companies change their policies too. If you were a low roller and were able to book a free room in the past......good for you. You certainly can't expect that to continue forever when you don't gamble or spend. If they give you a comp room and now want you to pay a resort fee (call it whatever you want......to generate some revenue).......it's still a bargain. If you don't like it, you have every right to take your vacation dollars somewhere else. I'm not convinced that the grass is greener on the other side of the fence.
I don't see many threads about mlife etc raising their resort fees (and they have).

I'm not talking about this thread or the OP, but I personally take a lot of posts with a grain of salt. When some post about their level of play or comps they receive..........often I find the math just doesn't pan out.

Maybe because you arent one of the many people to have a confirmed booked offer pulled on you at the last minute? They did this to me as well. I have a thread on it on here too. I didnt book back to back. i booked my standard corp offer with free play and they pulled my free play, not for lack of gambling, not for booking back to back, but because they claimed it was "sold Out" 1 month after i booked it.

Is CET the Devil? No. Did they have a lot of dead weight gamblers taking offers they dont deserve? I'm sure. But does that give them the right to send an offer, have us book it, have them confirm it only to pull part of it at the last minute without warning? The answer is a resounding No. I guess legally they can but that still doesnt make it right.

You're not the only ones not upset about it. My play hasn't gone down and neither have my offers.
