Suggestions Staying at Wynn?

Hi all,

Looknig to stay at Wynn on my next visit... on a budget. Problem being is that even for the lowest tier rooms I don't see myself paying that price just for a room that I won't spend much time in. Last time I stayed at Aria and the price was around $150 (+resort fee...) with 2 free buffets lunch which seemed fair. Any chance I can get the same deal similiar to that at Wynn/Encore?

Which days are the best days to stay there in the week for the best deal and are the standards rooms worth the price or should I just splurge if I really want to experience Wynn.

Stick with the “standard” Resort Room if budget is a concern. The Tower Rooms are no different from the Resort Rooms. The difference is the level of service. And while it really is a treat to stay on the Tower side, it’s very hard to justify the price when sticking to a budget is important. (You can request turn down service on the resort side if you want a little of the tower suite service.)

Besides, the standard rooms are big, comfortable and have plenty of high end finishes throughout. And while the service on the resort side certainly isn’t as personal as it is on the tower side, it is still excellent. Everyone is friendly and professional.

As a degenerate gambler, I usually get my room “free”. So, I’m not the best to help out with finding deals. But I do know that my sister found a killer deal last spring by buying a room/flight package through the Wynn website. If you have a Red Card, call casino marketing - if you’ve played there at all you’ll at least get casino rate, which at Wynn is actually a decent deal sometimes.

 

Wynn and "on a budget" are kind of contradictory.

If it's just a room that you want, Sunday through Thursday is best and you can probably do $129 plus tax and resort fee. Paying for the room absolves you of and requirement to gamble. You can enjoy the restaurants and clubs to your heart's (and wallet's) content.

All rooms at the Wynn are suites. The standard suite is quite large, but if you're not going to be there other than to sleep, IMHO it's kind of a waste.

I've stayed there before on multiple occasions but don't stay there unless I have a female guest.

 

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound contradictory. What I tried to imply was that I do enjoy a nicer room rather then say a Monte Carlo or NYNY (IMO). I would rather pay say $100 more at $150 then pay $50 to stay at a little bit better hotel. As for being frugal, I'll still spend money on good food, but I will try to find the best options at the best price. I would not pay $200+ for a Steak meal when I can get a similiar quality at half or 1/4 that price. Other frugal means would be walking everywhere on the strip, finding cheap drinks, and possibly finding cheap shows w/ coupons and/or MyVegas.

Very few "deals" for Wynn. And to correct DaiLun, Wynn's rooms are not all suites. Encore calls all their rooms suites but the only true suites at either side are Parlors and Salons.

 

Have you ever gambled there with your Wynn rewards card? If so, I'd give them a call to see what offers they can give you for a basic room. My wife doesn't even gamble and she receives discounted offers all the time for Sunday through Friday stays.

 

In November I booked a 5 night stay at Wynn with the flight I wanted, through the Wynn website, and the price was less than the same deal at Aria.

I consider all the rooms at the Wynn and Encore as suites, just as I do all the rooms at Venetian/Palazzo.

I am curious as to your definition of a suite.

Mine is two distinctly (and defined) separate areas for sitting and sleeping. Every room I've stayed at in the Encore meets that definition.

 

Wynn’s rooms are huge and have been arranged to have a sleeping area and living area. But they are, in the end, one big box. I think you would be hard pressed to find many who considered them suites. The best standard rooms in Las Vegas, IMO, but not suites.

Like you, I consider Encore’s standard rooms (as well as those at V/P) to be suites as they have something to break up the room (other than interior design) into distinct areas/rooms. Encore has the half wall with the TV and V/P has the step down and the rail or half wall.

But none of them have actual separate living rooms and bedrooms with a full wall and a door. So, I certainly understand why folks say that they are not true suites.

 

OK, I guessed that's what you were implying. I have not stayed at the Wynn but assumed that their rooms were like Encore's and Venetian's. My apologies if my tone seemed harsh. Thanks for your correction.

 

Interesting... thank you all. I'm guessing a Standard room would be good enough for me and my GF. I do not have a Red Card though, I've only gambled in other hotels like Aria, Cosmo, and Monte Carlo. (I only went to Wynn in the past to walk around and club). Can I sign up for the reward card online and hopefully they offer me something between now and the time I'm planning to go? (Summer'ish)
