Best asian type restaurant?

Hi everyone
My wife would like to go to an asian type restaurant while we are there in a few weeks. Any recommendations for a restaurant on/near the strip? We are staying at Marriott Grand Chateau.

Asian is a pretty broad range. But if I had to pick one, I would probably go with Noodles at Bellagio. At least on the dim sum cart days I would

 

Fancy? Casual?

Japanese? Chinese? Thai?

There are so many options that this would help us throw out some great suggestions for you.

 

China Poblano at Cosmo or is Dim Sum is your thing then Ping Pang Pong at Gold Coast.

 

Come on people, all Vegas conversations about Asian food begin and with Lotus of Siam and Raku.

China Poblano is ok, just ok.

Ping Pang Pong was ok for Dim Sum. I haven't found Dim Sum as good as some in San Francisco, but it's ok.

Lotus is about a mile off the strip on Sahara in a run-down center, but there's always a 1-2 hour wait during main dinner times. It's probably one of the most covered/coveted Thai restaurants in all the USofA. My wife tries to get us to go almost every trip.

Raku is in another strip center, also about a mile off the strip, again highly acclaimed both inside and outside Las Vegas. The food is phenomenal. It's the late night restaurant famous Vegas chefs like to meet and eat if that's any indication of the restaurant quality.

In terms of quick Asian, I have a soft spot in my heart for the restaurant in the Venetian by the sports book.

 

First of all, I find this post offensive, or at least misinformed. "Asians" are not a homogenous group. If you are trying to evaluate restaurants you need to make a clear distinction between -- in particular -- Japanese, Korean, Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese. I mean no offense by omitting any other cuisines from the Far East.

Besides, round eye, you didn't even capitalize the "a" in asian in your title.

I didn't mean to be too general and I certainly did not mean to be offensive unlike hammie. I am a PF Changs (Mongolian beef) type of person and I do love Thai food (drunken noodles). i'm not terribly aventurous but I do like it to taste good and not be ridiculously overpriced. Thanks for all the suggestions.

 

I have a soft spot for Lemongrass at the Aria, try their lobster satay.

 

Noodles at Bellagio or Lemongrass at Aria... Both are excellent!

 

IMHO, PF Chang's IS NOT A "real" ASIAN RESTAURANT!!!!!!!

I'm Asian and I won't eat there!!!!

If you mean "Asian inspired food" P.F. Chang's is more Chinese. I would recommend:

Ping Pang Pong at the Gold Coast
Asia Noodle at the Venetian
The Grand Wok and Sushi Bar at MGM Grand

There are a ton of restaurants in Chinatown on Spring Mountain that would probably please you.

 

Highly recommend Lemongrass at Aria. Love their Thai Iced Tea, Satays and the fruit salad. The fruit salad is just melons but it can feed two people. Most of the time Asian restaurants in these casinos are very good to above par places. Only place I would not recommend is Wing Lei at the Wynn. Food is okay and not worth the price.

The Strip has too many Japanese and Chinese restaurants. Need to balance things out with more Indian restaurants as they are mostly located outside of the Strip.

 

On the strip, I liked Sea at Ballys. Downtown I liked Le Thai. Outstrip. I tried Lao Sze Chuan and was impressed.

 

We really like rice and Co in Luxor for slightly upscale casual food. Also we stay at south strip Mgm properties so we always have coupons for it. I'd probably still pay full price though.

I like Noodles @ Bellagio and Lemongrass @ Aria, depending on the type of food I'm craving.

 

Another vote for Lemongrass @ Aria. Go there couple times every trip. Panang curry is awesome.

 

Please do yourself a favor and get off the strip.

LAs Vegas has a great "Chinatown" on Spring Mountain Rd, just west (about 1 mile) of Las Vegas Blvd.
Plenty of excellent, family owned (i.e.inexpensive) Chinese, Thai, Vietnamese, Korean, and others.
Use Yelp as a starting point.

PF Chang's isn't "real" but I like it. Lots of Americans might not like real Asian (Chinese/Korean) food.

If you want something different, try the hot pot at Noodle Exchange at Gold Coast. We were the only non-Asians in the restaurant. I had hot pot once in China and it was spicier at Gold Coast. Holy crap. My wife still complains about that meal. LOL. We're not going back for hot pot but it was a great time and memory.

Ping Pang Pong is the only other restaurant that has dishes on the menu that I saw in China.
