What's the difference between the MGM Grand and The Signature?

What are some pros and cons of each - from your perspective?

    Thanks

It is my understanding that the Signature Towers (3 of them) are more condo style rooms. They are also further away from the casino and it takes a bit of a walk for you to get there. I know the one BR suites are very nice and spacious and affordable.

Signature has condo style rooms. You have access to the Signature pools and MGM Grand pools but you have to walk to the casino for quite a bit... Make sure you don't make the mistake of checking in at the MGM Grand even though the reservation is at the Signature :p

We stayed there when a group of us rented a 2BR suite (from one of the third party rental sites). Cost was similar to if we got rooms at MGM, but the rooms were much nicer and had a kitchen (not that we used it other than the fridge).
I also remember the rooms being very quiet, a combination of only a few rooms per floor and multiple sets of doors between the BR and hallway.
As mentioned above, one downside is it is a long walk to get anywhere. I don't usually mind a bit of a walk, but I found it annoying enough that I don't think I'd stay there again unless we needed a suite.

I used to stay at the Signature every time I was in Vegas as I did not mind the walk. It was quite and if you have a car the valet and parking is easier, but one issue I had was the comps. They wouldn't comp my room, only the food we charged to the room. They said that they could not comp rooms at the Signature.

So it feels like you are staying at a hotel more than a hotel/casino?

Or like you are staying at an off-strip hotel with no casino?

Completely agree with you. It's tough to complain about walking anywhere in Vegas, but walking to the Signature seemed a bit much. The people movers helped, but I would say it takes a good 10 minutes (depending on walking speed) to go from lobby to MGM casino floor... I was also in Tower 1 which is the closest to MGM.

More like a hotel than hotel/casino. It's attached to MGM, but you're far away enough from the action where you don't really realize it.

I was there in November and before my trip I was in the same situation choosing between the two. My choices were between: MGM Grand King vs. Signature Deluxe Suite.

    MGM Pros:
    -Newer room
    -Less Walk

    MGM Cons:
    -No fridge
    -Smaller bathroom
    -No jacuzzi tub

    Signature Pros:
-Bigger bathroom, double sinks (easier to get ready when traveling with multiple people)
    -Quiet
-Catching a taxi is quick and easy
    -Multiple pools

    Signature Cons:
    -Walk
    -Kind of slow Elevators
-Starbucks in the Signature closed at like 5 every day

I have made noise before on this site before about how great I think The Signature is, but my friends will not stay there, they can't imagine not being able to go downstairs to gamble. I never thought the walk was bad, cause first it's move through other towers (depending on where you are), then two moving sidewalks, close to each other, then you go through double doors and the MGM pool is to your left. So to get to the actual gaming floor maybe 10 min, to get into MGM itself, minutes. I asked over and over again for my comps to be applied to my room, the last time I was there, they did that.

$20 trick is useless, at least in my experience. I always get a one bedroom balcony and rent a car, very easy in and out. So if you are looking for quiet, this is your place. If you want to be in the middle of the action, try somewhere else. I love the full size fridge, making breakfast every day, walking out on the balcony, filling the fridge with booze, two full bathrooms. Good luck!
