According to the GM, the Pasta Pirate replacement restaurant might be open by Dec 28 or 29. We arrive on Christmas and asked our host to make us a reservation for Sunday, 12/28 if they are open. I'm not a big fan of trying a restaurant while they are still working out the kinks, but what the hell, it's a comp.

I forgot to mention this in my brief TR. As part of the new contract signed, the Union allowed for the Pullman to reopen using non-union workers. Whether anything comes out of this concession remains to be seen. We always enjoyed the Pullman and I would love to see it reopen. A great dining room and the food and servers were always terrific.

As a lifelong Union member, I'm sad over this, but the bargaining group agreed to it, so I'd try it.

I have never experienced the Pullman (but always heard great things about it). Maybe it would reopen by August (ouch....that seems so far away.)

I would love it if the Pullman opened as a fine dining room again!

I never visited the Pullman when it was open and would love to see it re-opened. It's too beautiful a place to keep it closed. I think it would be a welcome addition at MSS, besides the buffet and the Brewpub.

Concessions on behalf of a Union is always a hard decision to make. Historically concessions are very rarely won back once given up. But its a sign of the times; Unions must look out for the members yet also survive during tough economic times.

Help me out here. Where exactly is this located? Inside MSS or outside? We aren't talking about the cars near the Plaza, right? Can I get a very brief history of the Pullman?

It is located inside MSS and there is parlor car inside the restaurant proper. It is currently being used for private functions. Here is a link with photos:

The Pullman is another of those Vegas classics that I missed because of the "next time" excuse. Sure hope it reopens. I won't make the same mistake again.

Wow. The Pullman looks amazing. I'm sorry I never checked it out before. I will do so if it reopens.

Man would I love to sit in the rail car after a steak dinner and smoke a cigar while drinking a nice bourbon.

The Pullman was shut down before we discovered MSS, so we were never there. As for the location: Is / was it back by the hotel elevators?

Yes still there and still in use for parties and banquets, but not open to the general public.
