I'm about to lose my mind!
I'm at Cosmo now and just finished a 2nd Blackjack session.
I have now lost 19 out of 20 consecutive hands, I had a push after around hand 15. Ignoring the push I lost 19 in a row......and counting.
And for those folks who like to use a Martingale bet progression system, if I had been doing that my last bet would have been $13,107,200.
My total loss during the run would have been $26,214,350.....and counting!
Maybe one of the math geniuses here can tell me the probability of loosing 19 in a row, I'm ignoring the push.
On the positive side I'm still up just over 2k for the trip while sipping a Cabernet and sitting on my balcony watching the fountains.
Guess I can't bitch too much, huh?

Maybe at hand 10 it would be time to move to another table or take a break?

I'm an accountant not a statistician but my quick calc (someone correct me if I am wrong---I have had a few beers) the probability of losing a coin toss 19 times in a row is a little over 500,000 to 1. So losing that many BJ hands would be a little lower since your chance of winning are less than a coin toss.

It is one of the things I love about it. It can change really fast for the good (or bad).Yeah it sucks sometimes but it is great when the cards are going good. Not passing judgment on what you do or don't like.

Would be the other way around: the probability would be less than a 50/50 game.
In other words it is more likely that 19 loss in a row would occur in BJ compared to a 50/50 game.

Sorry to hear it. We have all had runs like that. Well, if you gamble a lot you have! Take a break and go back to it with a fresh head

One of my last times in a casino (not in Vegas) a few weeks ago, I won the first 8 hands when I sat down at the table. I don't really keep track of things like that but I don't ever remember such a good start. And as the cards do they got equally cold and I ended up pretty much even for the night but that's how it goes.

You're losing streak will be quite the memory for later, especially for those who mention a Martingale system.
Up 2k sipping on the balcony AND watching the fountains = Blessed.
I just finished cleaning the bathroom and had a $2 Subway cold-cut trio for supper (feeling blessed too though).

I hope your next session has many winning hands.

Wah, been there too (almost), didn't win in 20 hands, but pushed a few more. On the other side of the coin, played at a charity fair, where a push equaled a loss. When I went to see the fireworks at dusk, my pockets were so full of their (max bet) $2 tokens they gave me the stink eye when I coloured up. Sadly, I lost somewhat more on the bad run than I made on the good, but that just means there will be that magic run a comin'.

I wanted to check out SLS so we stopped in but the vibe and weird smell drove me out after one loop around the place.
The wife then wanted to buy some crap at Container Park so I decided to go upscale, walk across the street, and take a shot at the 2D game at the glamorous El Cortez.
And that's where the debacle started.
The first eight hands were lost there and the next eleven at Cosmo, all at $50/hand.
Going to try and end the streak (Pleeeeeease) at Cosmo in an hour.

Or better yet, at hand #2.

Or would it be hand #7

    Or #11?

While you are sitting there, it is rather difficult to decide if

    a) The streak will continue
    or
    b) The streak is about to break and go the other way
    or
    c) Nothing good is going to happen
