Hope you don't mind me bringing your comments here marksind and salukidean, I didn't want to derail the other threads. But they are good points.

I've read in 2 different threads tonight about changes at the 4 Queen's.

Marksind mentioned in his update -

"The Four Queens still has some of the better VP choices, but their floor drinks are awful (juice glasses) and beer selection very tiny. One night we were at the Vanguard Lounge on East Fremont and started talking with a couple next to us at the bar. He works at the Chicago Brewing Company at the Four Queens, so I asked him why the place seems to be slipping. He said the owner over extended himself buying a bunch of local bar/casino properties around town that pretty much haven't panned out. Comps have been cut (as many of us have noticed), and maintenance has suffered. The next evening when we were playing there we heard some angry guests complaining that the elevators weren't working and they were having to walk five flights up to their rooms."

And then I read another thread where someone was asking if any hotels in Vegas give discounts for going without daily maid cleaning. Salukidean mentioned this -

"Four Queens just started this. You get $10 per day food/beverage credit each day that you go without service. Has to be used each day though....you can not let it accumulate and use it all at once."

Many of us here have been watching the 4Q barely maintain itself lately. I'm not posting to pick on 4Q...it's been our home base for many years. But this doesn't sound good to me. I don't really think they have room to cut back on maintenance and housekeeping.

I go there to see The Fabulous Cristine sling drinks on the outside patio. She really is something to see in action.

My brother was there for 5 nights in Oct and was constantly complaining about the elevators not working and not being fixed.

That doesn't sound good, especially if it's still an ongoing problem. You wouldn't think it would take a month to get them up and running properly.

Played there twice during a summer weeklong downtown stay. Drink service was virtually nonexistent, even when it was slow.

I think they have a lot of ongoing problems. Too bad.

I played twice there, keno and slot and never when dry. In fact at keno I played 3 games and had waitress come by at least 3 times!

I normally do not play keno but dabble in it. I played there cause it was the easiest way to get my parking validated in case we moved to somewhere else quickly.

Sad to see. The Four Queens was the first place I played and stayed in Downtown Vegas and have stayed there since about 8 times.

I was going to stay there for 2 nights in less than two weeks but I just cancelled my reservation and staying across the street at the Fremont instead. I'll still go over to use my ever dwindling Freeplay and visit The Mikes but not much more. Too bad.

On my trip this past April, the casino was uncomfortably HOT. I don't think the ac was working properly. Because of that I only walked around then left. I would have played there if it wasn't so uncomfortable.

I was there last month. Was really disappointed. Like mentioned elevator issue. The water was shout down to the hotel for 2 hours early in the morning one day. I checked in and the room wasn't made yet. The disgusting guest that stayed there before me left a big mess in the room. The car valet was annoying when we were heading back to the airport. He kept insisting that we could pay $35 for a SUV to take us back. He claimed he couldn't get us a cab so I walked across the street and got one at the cab stand. The cab ride back was less than $26. Why would I pay more? Anyway I don't think I will be staying there again anytime soon.

Generally the drink service is pretty good. There are gaps sometimes. I had a second Crown Old Fashion that was undrinkable, but the 1st one was fine. The service is usually very friendly and efficient. The comps for me have been consistent and have made sense most of the time. I would hate for them to close or change drastically.

When I was there in the end of Oct, 1 of the elevators was down. Could see through the doors, that it stopped about 2 feet from level on the casino floor. But, the other 3 were still working.

I think it's pretty warm in there most of the time as well. Even if they don't want to run A/C, they could turn on the vents, and bring in the cooler air from the outside.

I didn't know about the credit for not getting maid service. Wish I had, I turned them down 1 day since I was going to be checking out in less than 12 hours.

The drinks there are a joke I have to say. They seam to come around quick enough, but it's a joke about the alcohol in them, or lack of. I normally get a rum and coke. I couldn't even taste any rum the last time I was there.

The comps have really seamed to go down. Granted, I haven't been getting them too long. This past time I got a BoGo for $25, and $40 FP. After I got back, I emailed my host, and the host to The D. The D came back right away with 3 nights comped. The 4Queens host, casino rate only.

I really hope this is just a small issue they're having. 4Queens is the first hotel I stayed at downtown, and will miss it if it doesn't turn around soon.

Got back on the 11th spent 4 nights at Queens play my usual total but had my comps cut back from 200 FP and 3 nights to 80 and 2 nights. I guess the 4 night av. hurt me. I will see what happens in Feb. when I am only there for 2 nights.

I had a bad experience there during laborday. Here is my thread. It was so stupid. Just a mis-understanding and after complaining to management the only thing she could do is "speak to the marketing department". I think I spent about 15 days there this summer and ate at magnolia's over 10times.

All over a stupid 2for1 coupon that they falsely mis-advertised. I'll be damned if I ever stepped foot in there again and I'll be sure to tell everyone that asks about them my experience.

I even emailed them, and heard nothing!

I spent a full day gambling at the Four Queens last month.

    Positive:
I like the changes to the comp program. I'm getting more than I used to as a walk in customer. I gave them a 10k day, got some decent cash back and more comp dollars than I could use. Generous IMO.
I enjoyed the food at both Chicago Brewery and Magnolia's.
    Service was good at Magnolia's.

    Negative:
I had two incidents, 1. A TITO machine that my ticket got jammed in. I hit several service buttons on nearby machines yet it took 15 minutes for an employee to even acknowledge me... I did my best to wave one down to no avail 2. I sat at the half full bar at Chicago Brewery, started playing VP, and again it took an absurd amount of time for an employee to ask me if I wanted something.

I'll give them another chance, but man...

I was there the weekend before Thanksgiving playing DDB progressive VP at the front bar. The first day it was really hot at the bar. The bartenders were even complaining. They did call maintenance. I kept hitting 4OAKS and wasn't about to leave. I went back the next day, same bar, temp was fine. BTW, I was hitting 4OAKS the next day also. I will go back the next time I am in Vegas. Love the 4 Queens! I hope they get the elevator situation fixed.

We ate at Magnolia's for lunch one day last week. Had the Buy 1 Get 1 coupon from ACG. We wanted something light because we weren't real hungry.

Well.............it's a good thing we came in not hungry.
    Seated right away.
Took 20 minutes for the waitress to finally stop by our table.
    We each ordered a sandwich
Took another 20 minutes to get the sandwiches.
    BLANDEST sandwiches ever.
We inhaled them then got in line to pay. Took over 10 minutes in line to pay and the line just kept getting longer behind us. I bet some of those guys waited over 20 minutes to pay.

We wouldn't go back here if the food were free. There's way to many low cost dining choices within a 5 minute walk.

Not sure what the normal routine is for ACG coupons but Magnolia's makes you go to the players club and get a voucher.

As slow as the service is, you'll have PLENTY of time LOL
