wearing a suit in vegas

Hello, where are the best places to dress up in a suit in vegas? Or is a suit generally considered too dressy for nightlife these days unless the weather is chilly (dec/jan). Seems like suits are mainly worn in vegas by hotel/event/service workers. I saw one or 2 partygoers in a suit at xs last nite and they seemed overdressed like they would not be getting the most out of their nitelife experience.

 

I say if it makes you feel good, put one on! You're right, you don't see it often these days and much to the dismay of many. I wear a suit for a living and can't wait to pop on the cargo-shorts and polo-shirt, but there are those who enjoy the feeling of getting dressed up for a night on the Vegas town and more power to 'em!

 

I wore jeans and an untucked black sportshirt with french cuffs last nite. looked sharp and completely appropriate. felt like a perfect balance between those who were more dressed up and those who were more dressed down. some dude spilled part of his drink on me and it didn't bother me that much. no worries about staining or damaging the fabric and much more affordable to replace if necessary.

 

Funny how all those marketing pics with James Bondish guy in tux and the leggy sidekick in evening gown with him at the roulette table don't quite match the reality of who is actually playing - perhaps we need to go to the other Monte Carlo......

I wouldn't recommend most suits because you'll look like you either work there or just got out of a meeting.

if you have a flashy, colored or shiny suit, and you can pull it off, that would be sweet.

I wear a sport coat and tie all the time at night and feel great.

 

I wear a suit most nights I go out. If it's a tailored suit ladies will talk to you. Promise you, you wear a nice suit next to a guy in jeans and black shirt you most likely will get talked to first. Also, wear a nice shiny watch. Lol have fun

 

When we do bottles, we generally suit up.The ladies do like it as limo stated.

I generally wear dress pants with dress shirt if not suited up.

 

There is no reason why not to wear a suit in vegas if you are comfortable in one.

you will look 100% better then most people and , a little secret, you can get away with just about as much bad behavior as you can muster.

hell, you can act like a pirate on the raging main, drinking a case or rum and pillaging but if you are in a suit, they will alomets always blame it on the guy next to you.

i have tried this numerous times and its always the same result. bad behavior, obnoxious, arrogant drunkensess and nothing but praise and apologies from the casino personnel.

you gotta love it!!

I wear slacks and a Tie/bowtie. Do what you like. There are some in tshirts, and some are in suits. Just wear what you want. The fancier the hotel, the more suits you will see. IE, Wynn, MGM, etc.


I get all my stuff on clearance racks at kohls plus 30% off and people think im balling. I swear my whole outfit is about 60-70$ including my ashley talyor shoes. LOL

I think there is a different in "going out" and "work" outfits. Dont wear the same white shirt and boring tie with jeans that you do at work. Come on guys, its vegas....get the bright shirt and fancy tie.

 

you want to be comfortable, but dont be those guys that wear those 2 tone sketchers with jeans and an affliction shirt. i see alot of guys that wear blazers with jeans, im not a big fan of that either.

 

I was on the main floor of xs and around 2am the floor was jam packed shoulder-to-shoulder. people would try to move through the crowd and it would just push the crowd together tighter. If I were wearing my custom suit I would have been worried about rips, snags and other damage. It prob would have been a bit hot too. I would also be wearing $$$ shoes with the suit that could potentially get scuffed/damaged.

I haven't worn a tie in years even to interviews. When I see someone in a suit in vegas my first thought is service worker. Interesting comment about a flashy suit though. Maybe a flashy shirt under a basic suit would get the same attention. I should start thinking about suit-based fashion for vegas. Next time I'm in vegas, I need to hang out in places where more people are wearing suits, flashy and otherwise, to figure out what I think would work best for me in vegas.
