paris, Flamingo or Ballys - rooms

Ok,
looking to book 4 nights and I have same prices for either of these hotels.

I can get

Ballys:
Indigo Classic room
Indigo Deluxe room
What is the difference ?

Paris
Luxury 1 king
Does this have a newer LCD HD TV ?

Flamingo
Fax Deluxe

Really I'd prefer a newer room, at least HD TV and LCD.....more for older parents, that will spend more time in room.

 

Those aren't great options.

I've stayed in Bally's Indigo Deluxe, at least I think that's what it was. I had booked Classic, did the $20 trick, and got upgraded to the Indigo "Junior Suite" which I think is the Deluxe. That used to be the "new" tower; I think the last upgrades were a decade ago or so. I actually liked the room a lot--very spacious and I could get from there to Ellis Island in about 9 minutes--but it's not "newer."

Paris Luxury is a Blue Room, which I have also booked, done $20 trick and gotten upgraded to the Red Room strip view (which may be what they call premier?). Also not that new.

I don't remember much about the TVs.

I've never stayed at Flamingo and probably wouldn't.

 

The fab rooms at flamingo have been renovated in the past 5 or so years? They do have the LCD tvs in the room, I believe the feed was HD, but I did not spend my time watching TV when I was there.

 

Older parents? Paris would be my choice. Better place for walking around back through the shops towards Ballys. Way better atmosphere for them vs Flamingo.

We had our 10th anniversary in Vegas this past summer and had both sets of parents there, (age ranged 5 to 72) and they loved the Paris.
It is one of the nicest "first vegas impressions" hotels to stay at, it is easy to navigate and the rooms are more than adequate.

We booked red rooms for all of our guests, and they all had LCD TV's.

 

That's one thing that drives me crazy: basically every hotel on the strip has flat screen HDTVs. But A LOT of them do not have HD cable so the picture looks terrible on them.

NYNY, Monte Carlo, The Mirage only had standard def picture on HDTVs.

Aria, MGM Grand, and Cosmo had HD cable.

 

They don't want you to sit in your room and watch tv.

 

Then they should get rid of the TVs.

Got to have a tv or you can say get rid of the bed. It's a we got to have it in the room but we don't want you in there watching it. You know that.

 

I love Paris. I also love PH. Both are great locations. Casino vibe is hugely different...Paris is older crowd, PH is younger. Both are good fun though.

If you self park at Paris FFS take a picture of where you are parked or make a note of the floor / bay.

The missus and I dash parked last time I was there as we were both busting for the bathroom. Got hammered on the booze and the next morning we thought we were on floor 3 but after looking (not far enough down the row!!) we thought we must be higher up. We went floor by floor to the 7th, then floor by floor down again (still drunk so intelligence was limited) and found the stupid thing about 20 yards past where we first looked.

 

I would get a Paris Red Room. I have stayed in the Blue rooms and it was fine for me because i go solo, but the Red Rooms are nicer. I also stay at Indigo Deluxe rooms at Bally's which are a little bigger than Paris, but overall Paris is the best place to have a home base of the three.

I have stayed in all these rooms--Ballys room is largest & nicest, remodeled about 10 years ago. FAB room has been refurbed more recently, but unimpressively. Paris is not remodeled tho they have updated linens.
Ballys is very generous with comped upgrades if available (to very newly renovated Jubillee tower); Flamingo usually offers upgrades to GO rooms for small fee per night, while Paris is the least likely to offer a comped or low priced upgrade--Red Rooms are tough to come by.
