Will be going in November over a weekend. Will want to watch a certain game. About 10 guys going. We can we catch the game we want to watch the will be the most fun, good deals, great atmosphere? Would this be a sportsbook or a sports bar? Staying at Harrah's. Have thought about Lagasse's but may be too expensive and not exactly our style. Blondie's seems like a decent option. And I dont know about the sportsbooks.

    Any recommendations?

Bumping this. I have never watched a game in a sportsbook. I am not sure if it would be good for a group of 10 guys who are going to want to be drinking. I did see that Harrah's has a bar and table games too? That helps. But we will want to have a good seat for game too. Any suggestion?

Blondie's is a good option for a large group, take a look at their website, they have pictures of the place.
Lots of dark wood, could be a college sports bar almost anywhere.

Enjoyed the Pub at Monte Carlo, Twin Peaks was decent when I went this spring which would definitely work. I've enjoyed Aria's sports book also.

If there's a specific school you want to watch I suggest you Google the school's name+ alumni club Las Vegas after it.... You may be able to find a link to where they watch the games locally. My friends found Ohio State's group that way when we were there last fall.

    Hope this helps.

All football viewing in Vegas must be done at a sportsbook. That is an unwritten law. (or should be)

Harrah's and MC sportsbooks are the size of a phone booth.
Flamingo used to be a fav of mine for generous drink tickets and superior CW service) but some genius decided to take away 2/3 of the sportsbook and put in a Carlos n Cheech's (or whatever the hell it is) restaurant!
None of these are quite the best place to be on a football Saturday or Sunday.

A little more roomy at the Mirage book, as well as Mandalay Bay, Venetian, Bellagio. Caesars used to be good, but they jacked it by placing a bar smack dab in the middle of the seating area, making it a veritable cluster$*$#.

My old-school go-to sportsbook remains the LVH (Hilton,Westgate, whatever the hell they are calling it nowadays)
Large, many screens, many betting windows, close by bathrooms, deli, and a back door entrance from the back parking lot that is the definition of convenience.
Also, retains that old school feel and smell of stale beer, cigars, and cheap perfume. Good drink service.
It's a fav of horse players too, as it's race book is larger than most.

Depends on what you're looking for. Best in terms of what? Best crowd, best looking girls, best food, best drinks, best deals for food and drinks, best viewing... There are literally tons of ways to qualify what you mean by "best."

Harrahs sports book sucks a stinky behind. Lagasse's is probably the best viewing bar in town, but expensive and the food sucks.

Most sports books are going to have crappy drink service. And, most will require you to spend a crap load in order to get a free drink ticket.

Sounds like you're looking for cheap options with tons of screens and a decent crowd. In that case, the LVH is a great option, albeit off the strip somewhat. Probably exactly what you're looking for.

The Planet Hollywood has a smaller sports book, BUT, they have tons of eating and drinking options close by. Gonna be hard to get 10 dudes in there though.

Mirage isn't a bad spot either. Fills up quick. Food options around it are limited, but directly across the street from the Mirage is a food court with pizza, mcdonalds, etc.

If you go to a sports bar, good luck finding a deal on drinks if you're on the strip. Easy to get into the Pub at Monte Carlo. Was there a few weeks ago and it was dead for college football, but the service was quick and the deals were decent (buckets of beer).

Harder to get into Blondies and you'll probably need a reservation and they'll have a minimum per game and you might need to make multiple reservations for multiple games.

Twin Peaks has great girls and frigidly cold beer... but you'll pay for it too.

Stick with the LVH. Get there an hour before the games and scope out a good area for all of you.

Thanks for the reply. Only thing I was worried about with sportsbook is that the seats are just right down in a line. Seems kind of weird. Also, do most sportsbooks have bars? It looks like Harrah's has a bar. Not sure if it is and old pic. Drinks will be flowing.

As a general rule, most books have a VP bar close by. Sit 5 abreast in one row and the row in front sit another 5 abreast if you find a sports book like that.

I've never been to it, but the LVH has some sort of fan cave experience. http://www.thelvh.com/sportsviewing

If you opt for the PHo... they have an ABC store in the miracle mile shops. Cheap dranking.

Will be heading to Vegas this Friday. Turns out, the game will be at 12:30 in Vegas. Still have not decided one where to go. Was wondering if there is a place to see which games will be on TV at the books. Also do the play one game over the speakers? Would like some noise atleast. WVU Texas game.

Action dictates what you see and hear in the sports book. The big tv that's front and center has the most action on it. That game will have the sound on it. Unless no one is in the book and you can talk the manager into putting the sound on another game. Probably a tough chore unless you have a significant of money in play (collectively with all of your friends).

Those are two pretty popular teams, so I would imagine the game will at least be on a few tvs.

If you're looking for college bars associated with a team (the bar will call a cab for you when you're ready to go back to the strip):

Texas (13 miles from the PH)
PT'S GOLD (Ann Rd. & Camino Al Norte)
    812 W. Ann Rd.
    North Las Vegas, NV

    WV (7 miles from PH)
SIERRA GOLD (215 & Jones Blvd.)
    6515 S. Jones Blvd.
    Las Vegas, NV

I'm guessing the ASU/NotreDame game will be the "sound" game heard in the books during that timeframe
