Are you talking about the submarine and aircraft carrier reference? I thought that was weird mistake for a Scientific American article but they're just reprinting a Reuters piece, and if you go to the Reuters site that line correctly states fission. So I guess Scientific American posted it before Reuters caught and corrected the mistake.
The reactor doesn't have to be replaced. Just the rods in a fission reactor. Fusion is interesting and very difficult. I started my professional life as a reactor physicist. This sounds great but I'm dubious.
as am I, if Lockheed has invest 50 yrs and billions why are they talking about a year until working model and then 10 yrs *IF* they get financial partners? gotta research the patent apps when they become available
