I have played MyVegas without even having a trip planned but played sporadically. Now, I have a trip planned for February. I've never taken one of their offers for anything. I hear people talking about MLife, having a card and have no idea going about how to get these things. Also, if I play hard for the next few months (I'm at just over 10,000 reward points now), is there any hope of getting something good - free room possibly? Thanks for any info or advice!
Kay, You have plenty of time to collect enough LP's to get a room for at least one night, perhaps two, plus food choices. You can collect LP's up until your trip, then redeem them shortly before the trip. That might not work the best to assure you free rooms for weekdays, or bonus weekdays. You may want to redeem those rewards as early as you can. Just be aware that you may have to invest some time every day to achieve this. I also recommend you connect with a few friends to increase your LP's earned every day. Good luck.
Good advice. I'd especially like to second the advice about connecting with friends. Since I have not been able to visit Las Vegas for a couple years, I didn't start playing MyVegas until a short time ago. Friends I know from previous visits have helped me stack some chips. When I eventually start going back, I can ask those friends how to get the best mileage out of my LP's. No point in worrying about that now because things change.
Just a reminder that you can't get the room on the back-end. i see in the FB group a lot people asking about applying a free room to something they have booked already. The free room needs to be a new booking, but if you already have a reservation see if it is cancellable- you can always keep your room reserved until you have enough LPs for the free night, then if the dates line up and a room is available after you book it through myvegas you could cancel your other reservation.
Kay-when you get to Las Vegas you can sign up for a card at the M-Life desk at any of the casino's you are building on 'my strip. (Bellagio, Monte Carlo, MGM....etc). It's a players club card and it is free. It is also helpful to play on facebook and mobile.Check the reward section for how much you need for a room. Example: we got a free room at Monte Carlo mid week for fewer points because there is not much going on the week we are going in mid December. If you are going during a convention, the super bowl or certain times when everyone goes to Vegas you might need more chips. (or the date will not be available at all!) Surf around this board, read and take notes. http://support.myvegas.com/hc/en-us/articles/202120536-Can-I-purchase-consecutive-nights-at-the-same-property-
I've only been playing for a couple months, and I already have a couple hundred thousand lp, more than enough for a 3 night room redemption if it's a bonus weekend (especially since one of those would necessarily be a weekday comp). I don't know if it's necessarily *sustainable*, but so far at least, I'm definitely feeling like the more I play, the more lp I get (the thousand lp a level-up helps that feeling dramatically.) Now my main worry is just whether they'll actually post a calendar at a reasonable time, and whether the times we're thinking of will actually be available.
I'm looking to book a few days with my LP points in June but I see that the dates only go up to Jan 15, any idea when the calendar goes up as far as June 15?
Kay, You will need to go to Mlife.com and register so you have an Mlife account number. This has to be done, BEFORE you call the number on the e-mail you will receive, when you redeem your LP's for comped rooms. When you call the phone number that they will send in an e-mail, the reservationist will ask for your Mlife number. You have to have this before they will make the reservation. Just give them your Mlife account number, then when you arrive in Vegas, go to the players card desk and pick up your card. THEN, check into the hotel. You have to have your Mlife card in hand, BEFORE checking into your hotel. I hope this helps and enjoy your trip. Vegas is a whole lot of fun. Kindly, K-9tretbaker
