Recommendations for quiet(ish) room Downtown

Where do you like to stay on Fremont that generally quiet and a decent deal? Stayed at The D last year and, while a great deal and perfectly OK rooms, our room faced Fremont and was pretty loud until the music died around 1am.

Any other recommendations? If you've stayed at The D, and recommendations on getting a quieter room?

 

We often stay in the south tower (Carson Tower) at Golden Nugget. They are the cheapest rooms at GN, but way in the back, away from Fremont Street. The rooms are perfectly nice, but not luxurious. They are located down the hall next to the pool, then past the Starbucks. Never hear Fremont Experience music, and often we wonder if we are the only ones on the floor, because it is so quiet.

You can also find quiet rooms also away from Fremont at Main Street or California for probably a little less that GN. Have a great trip.

 

A second vote for Carson Tower at Golden Nugget. Very quiet. If you don't mind staying just off Fremont, I would also suggest Main Street Station (away from the railroad). Nice, quiet, and low-key.
I have no recommendations for the D. I like it, but I find it a bit loud all the way around - from the FSE noise wafting into the rooms to the music playing in the casino.

 

I've stayed in a number of the downtown properties and also like a quiet room. Based on experience:
The D - Southeast corner, or close to it.
Four Queens - South tower, south side
Golden Nugget - Carson Tower, pretty much anywhere, though all the way at the end of the hall you'll hear the announcements from the jail. Gold tower, west facing (toward pool)
The Plaza - South tower, southeast (railroad tracks are to the west), up
The Downtown Grand - main tower - east facing, west tower - north facing, west end
El Cortez - only stayed in the tower. North side is quieter. South side gets noise from Fremont East clubs.

 

I agree with everybody except for Main Street, there freeway and/or train noise are more problematic there.

 

We recently stayed in a Golden Gate suite. Nice room that was very quiet.

 

East side of the Cal's west tower, up high, is pretty good.

 

Staying at the El Cortez Cabana Suites right now. 195 for a Thurs, Fri, Sat night. The wife loves it, nice room, quiet at night, security a the door and we're just a block away from the fun. Staff is great, too.

 

I have stayed at the Golden Gate, Fremont and Four Queens. I just ask that my room not be on Fremont Street and have never been bothered by the noise.

 

Stayed at Fremont a week ago. 10th floor very quiet and great location. Main street station was very quiet as well and still close to Fremont St experience. Downtown Grand is a short walk and may be worth checking out too

 

I've never had any problems sleeping at the Fremont (6th floor, west side), the Plaza (south tower) or 4-Queens (south tower?).
Golden Gate & 'theD' were a bit noisy.

 

Stayed at Plaza North Tower and never heard a thing.

Request a room on the "odd numbered" side if you're going to "the D".

 

We have a golden gate suite booked in december. Have a few questions for you if you would be kind enough to answer.

Are there coffeemakers in the suites? Keurig? If so, should we bring our own pods?

Are there refrigerators in the suites?

Have you also stayed in the rush tower at the golden nugget? The reason I ask is we have a nice offer from the GN for the nights we're staying. If so,
which would you choose?

There was a keurig in the room but no coffee pods. There was also a refrigerator in the room. I posted a few pics in my september trip report. I have never stayed at golden nugget but we were very happy with the room and the golden gate.
