Did I mention I fell in love with this hotel on my last trip?

Because of the corn-flake encrusted french toast at Mr. Lucky's, the epic rock 'n' roll paraphernalia, the multiple vibes of the casino sections, the glorious pool (beating most if not all pool complexes in Vegas), the accommodating coed spa with a large Roman bath, the beautiful, comfy large rooms, solid nightlife options and just a 15 minute walk to mid-strip (and a 10 minute walk to Planet Hollywood Miracle mall shops and theatres), I was impressed by this off-strip property.

Any other Hard Rock lovers here?

(I am definitely calling you out smartone  ).

I stayed there this summer. Had a really good time and the bartenders were awesome. The only thing I noticed is that some nights it was surprisingly slow (maybe b/c a good amount of people were in the concert those 2 nights)
I hit Mr Lucky's for most meals. The steak and shrimp special for $7.77 was an awesome deal for the price(wasn't the best cut of steak, but hey it was less than $8 so u cant complain). Mr lucky's had some other daily specials. FU had really good general tso chicken

Ha! Ha! Yea!!!!! My favorite thread of all time!!! Though I fear we're in a rather small club here on VMB. I'm really excited that the same management group (Warner Gaming) is rehabbing the old Horizon into the Hard Rock Lake Tahoe and it'll be right down the street from me here in the north... but even though I've lived in Nevada forever, I try to treat my monthly business jaunts to Las Vegas like a "special" trip. As I've said many times... Since about the time The Mirage opened in the late 80's, I've been going to Vegas on business and have been fortunate to have stayed at just about every joint in town. The ones I haven't slept in, I've made a point to visit. I settled pretty regularly at the Hard Rock (Las Vegas) in 2009 I guess.

Location was a big factor for me then, as I can get in and out of the property easier that the Strip or Downtown joints and up and down Paradise and or Flamingo very quickly (well as quickly as Vegas traffic allows) to my destination. But these days I stay for the staff, who're wonderful to me... I'm not a "High Roller", just a regular visitor, but they treat me like a high-roller! The casino is dead in the day-time, cause all the cool people are hangin' out at the incredible pool-complex. Why wouldn't you? It's lushly landscaped and very well maintained and FULL of beautiful people. For all the Hard Rock's issue's with servicing the huge debt they saddled themselves with during the 3/4 Billion dollar expansion in 2010, they keep the entire property impeccably maintained and clean.

VMBers like to believe that they saw the ReHab TV program, so they know who frequents the Hard Rock, but you'd be wrong... while ReHab (now both Saturday and Sunday) does indeed draw a wild and crazy young crowd on the weekends, the weekdays skew all over the place in demographics. I'm a 56 yo bald male and I NEVER feel outta place there. Perhaps cause I'm 56 not hoping to be 80 like many here on the board or perhaps cause I still refuse to "act my age"! I just know I look around in the late evening when things pick-up and see a lot of people who look like me too!

Lots of good restaurants, small but well stocked work-out facility and a concert venue that I enjoy (sorry paperposter). Things are always opening or closing and being replaced with something else or being remodeled or improved and it's been that way constantly since I started staying there. What hasn't been in much flux is the staff... amazingly little turnover considering their financial issues.

No the place isn't for everyone... much like the D, the music hits you in the face (as does the wonderful smell the property has) upon entry and you can't escape it. The music memorabilia is an attraction and is never stagnant. Room occupancy seems to be quite a bit up over the past year or so on the weekdays... they seem to be doing more conferences, etc. I think they're also running more room specials, particularly for the Casino and Paradise Towers to fill the place up.

I could go on and on... and according to my wife, usually do, but this place just suits me well... I feel very comfortable and "at home" at the Hard Rock. I'm so glad you had a fun time there Sco! My affinity for the Hard Rock doesn't mean I don't enjoy other places... Before I landed at the HRH, I frequented Wynn-Core and the Golden Nugget downtown... also used to enjoy the hell out of the Treasure Island and Mirage back in the mid to late 90's. Lately, The Cromwell had really caught my eye... love the "vibe" there and may consider a stay or two. There's just a great feeling walking into the Hard Rock and being welcomed by name (and knowing their names) from everyone from the valet fellas to VIP check-in to the concierge that's tough to get over!

Smartone, I completely agree with you about the pool. I was by myself and I am not normally a pool person, but I had a good time at the pool.
The only thing I wasn't really a big fan of is the fact that the players club and cashiers are the same booth....... and it just seemed to be understaffed all the time.

I COMPLETELY agree about the Players Club/Cashier's Cage combo now... my friend Paperposter was right when he raised this issue when they did it. I was wrong... I thought "operationally" it made sense and in fact, on paper it may still, BUT the way they've implemented it has sucked!!! My "electronic survey" thing after each stay is generally very positive... I like calling-out things I like or people who really make a positive impression. I know they get read too, as many of the people I've mentioned thank me. After this past visit last week, I pretty much said I'm not going to cage again... it's a circus... no one seems to be able to answer any question and worse yet, they all act like they don't care and hate each other.

The ambiance surrounding that section of the property is awful. I was asking a question about a promotion and the girl looked at me like I was from Mars, until I pointed at the poster 4 feet being her and said, "that one!" She turned and said, "Oh... I don't know anything about that, I've been off for a week." "OK, fine... could we bring someone over who might know?" Not only did she get put outta shape, but the lady who she called over (who actually heard the whole conversation, but was doing her best "I can't hear you" routine) seemed especially annoyed she was interrupted from whatever she was doing. I wanted to say, " the place ain't that busy honey, you can't be countin' that much money!"... but I remained polite, She wasn't much more help than the first person and I ended up walkin' off. I try really hard not to let incompetence, which tends to reign in our society, sour my mood. I've had similar issues trying to cash a Certegy check there... no one ever seems to know how to do it, then they have to go to each printer along the line trying to make it work and then they seem pissed at me that I asked for a service THEY offer!

Since I have a rental vehicle and my back in around the corner, I'll just get cash when I need it from now on and for the promotion... frankly I don't need a $10 gas card that bad, but the point is the cage area is terrible... I agree. Regarding my negative comments on the survey... I've yet to be contacted... if it got forwarded to them, I doubt I will.

Enjoyed my first stay at Hard Rock this past April and here's what I learned:

1- Contact smartone and catch up with him if your trips overlap. Tons of knowledge.

2- Party with smartone. Yes there are pictures of he, Lady Fortuna, smartvegas and I from a night drinking at the main bar in the center of the casino on here (4/23/14) by Lady Fortuna in trip reports.

3- Hard Rock knows how to treat their customers. More emails for comped rooms and such and I am a small fish. Will definitely be coming back.

HR lover here!!! This past May, I really enjoyed my first stay at HR also. Smartone was a big help and glad I took his advice in staying in a HR suite for my golf trip. I would definitely stay here again (with my golf buddies). Unfortunately, my wife loves Vdara so it's there or Cosmo. Lastly, I won a decent jackpot on my last day at HR so it can't be all that bad of a place! :peace:

I would say the Hard Rock might be a bit of a "love it or hate it " hotel.
For me, I just love the style of the HRH Tower. If I could design my own casino/hotel I would to it exactly like them. But Im sure there are also people who dont like it as much (lobby too dark, too much leather....)
Food options are imho pretty solid ( Pink Taco still probably beeing my favorite casual food outlet in Vegas, with service, food quality / price / happy hours)
Lucky 7 not bad at all for a 24/7 ( on the other side the last two times I had the gambler 7.77$ special I just thought that they must be really saving on the meat as I just wasnt good of a steak at all,,, I know u get what u pay for, but remebering getting a pretty solid steak couple years ago, I just might pass on that one in the future )

There has been enough said about the pool complex (Great in every way)
In my opinion there is one thing that is a HUGE issue for me, that midweek it's very dead alot of the times....
This again is something everybody has to decide on it's own. While some people enjoy playing alone, other folks like to have a few people around the table...for me I would not stay there midweek if there isnt a special event / concert, but I sure there are people who enjoy/ can live with the "calmness"
There also might be not alot of other casinos in Vegas where u find such a big difference in terms of how lively the place is, when the place is packed on a tuesday when there is a concert and then on wednesday it's totally dead...
Im very sure someone can still have a hell of a time @ Rehab / Body english ( I can ! :) ( but both places are nowhere they have been couple years ago....Rehab today is just a very different story than back when there has been no EBC, Marquee and many of the other dayclubs....

I've stayed at the Hard Rock Hotel only once. I booked the spa villa room. And although I loved the room (two story w patio that connects to their pool/beach/club) .. I also find it to be too quiet. Unless I'm there for an event or concert.. There's really nothing to do at hard rock.

And this is off tangent but.. Til this day I have a 20 and 50 dollar ticket voucher I forgot to cash out. It states that it expires after 60 days.. But money is money right? What if you are across the country and forget to cash out ur $2000 ticket.. So you lose out on money that is yours?

Has anyone ever tried cashing out an expired voucher by speaking to someone at the cashier? ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412102239.671547.jpg

Good question... I'll be interested in hearing from someone who "knows", cause I don't... but those are almost 2 years old... my thought is that might be difficult.

Yeah I figured. I kept them just in case I ever happen to be at hard rock again but never had the reason to.

Should have mailed it. Before it expired. A lot of sports book slips are cashed by mail. I'm sure there's an old thread about it here somewhere.

Those aren't sports book slips, they're the regular TITO from the machines. I don't know if those could have been mailed?

I will be at the Hard Rock from the 27th of this month for a week. It's the first time in Vegas and I'm sure it will be immense. If anyone is there at the same time I'd love to meet up for a few beers

I was there to see tiesto. The room I stayed at was really nice. When I open the doors to my back patio.. This is what I see.. Closed to everyone during winter season but since we have straight access to it from our room..we were able to. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412289822.705995.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412290116.950003.jpg

Basically.. Our room had access to their entire pool. I think it was only 800 a night when we booked it. I didn't take photos of the room.. Only have a video of it =\
