I currently have a Corner Suite booked at Vdara for a conference I'm attending at the end of October. The conference is actually being held at Caesars Palace so I tried to get somewhere close to there. However, from research it looks like it's not as close as it seemed. For about the same price, I can book a Palace Tower Premium Room (or if there is a better choice please advise) which looks to be close to the conference area. I definitely need 2 beds or a bed/sleeper sofa. I don't mind walking back and forth too much, but after attending a conference recently and not staying in the conference hotel, I like the idea of being able to go back to my room during breaks/lunch if needed. Also, although Vdara has a kitchenette, I'm not sure about having no close options for food. I don't mind the no casino too much as there won't be much gambling on this trip. I'll be in town for a week (Saturday - Saturday). I've almost talked myself into booking a room at Caesars, but wanted some thoughts first. Or if there is another place that isn't too far of a walk and is a good value, I'm open to all suggestions. Thanks.

I have never stayed at a CET hotel, but Caesars is a pretty big one - I am not sure where the conference rooms are located, but it might be a long walk through the hotel and then through Bellagio if you want the option of going back to your room during breaks. Caesars is right next to Bellagio - you just walk out of Caesars near the registration area and make a right, go up the stairs and across the walkway to Bellagio. The fastest way to Vdara would be to go to where Bellagio registration is and then go toward the tram that runs from Bellagio to Monte Carlo. The Vdara entrance is just beyond the point where you would get onto the tram. Given all of this, it would not be as easy to dash back and forth from Caesars to Vdara for a short break between meetings.

I love staying at Vdara and in fact, I am staying there on my own trip next month. If your trip was purely for pleasure, I would recommend Vdara over Caesars hands down. Depending on where everything is located, the amount of foot traffic, and how fast you walk. it could be at least 15-20 minutes to get from the meeting rooms at Caesars to Vdara. Vdara is a smaller hotel with no casino, and there are times I have had to wait a bit for an elevator, which could add to the time you spend getting back and forth. As for food, there are plenty of close options for food from Vdara - it is a very short walk from Vdara to Aria (you literally walk out, make a left and walk about two minutes to the Aria entrance) where there are many options. Vdara is also connected to Bellagio by a walkway, and there are plenty of dining options at Bellagio as well.

Good info above from Jr... I agree. I've attended and hosted several conferences at Caesar's and one of the main complaints we always get from attendees is how big the place is and all the walking needed... and that's from folks staying AT Caesar's!!!! I like to walk too, but don't really consider Vdara all that close to Caesar's. I also like to go to my room after lunch to brush my teeth, check some e-mails, turn-on the news or somethin'.
Vadera's a wonderful property, but packaged up with the conference... it'd be a bit much for me.

There has to be a reason why you booked Vdara over CP in the first place :peace:

I think you should remain at Vdara and cab it back and forth as the Corner Suite is much better than the room you were looking to book at CP. My wife and I did the same exact thing last November 2013 (stayed at Vdara and cabbed it to CP) due to a Dental Conference.

On our last visit to CP, we stayed in the Palace Tower Suite with the multi-head shower, 2 bathrooms, bedee and nice view of the pool; However, we opted to stay at Vdara instead of CP for the Dental Conference. Vdara's Executive Corner Suite has 1.5 baths, washer/dryer, couch w/ pull out bed (note: never slept on it), kitchenette, keurig coffee machine etc. It's definitely worth it but if walking/cabbing is an issue, then staying at CP is the solution even though your first choice is Vdara

Lastly, there are plenty of food options at Vdara. They have good food at Bar Vdara and across the way at their food shop as well as Starbucks. You can also go next door to Bellagio, Aria and Cosmo. For me, their location is ideal and my preferred place to stay with my wife.

The Executive Corner Suite is the type of room I always stay in at Vdara and it is fantastic - the washer/dryer alone is worth it, as I usually stay for about 11 days and am able to bring half the clothes and just do laundry. Both the Executive and regular Corner suites also offer a Keurig coffee maker (Vdara housekeeping will leave more kcups when they service the room) which is another plus.

Agree 100%! If the OP requested the Corner Suite, they could work the magic when checking in and ask for an Executive Suite. If not, the Corner Suite is great minus the half bathroom.

The conference center/meeting rooms at Caesars are in the Palace Tower.
You have that going for you at Caesars. The conference center is massive and requires a lot of walking once inside.

It is walkable from Vdara but not a short walk.Vdara is connected to Bellagio so you could walk into the Spa Tower at Bellagio and all the way across the casino and then over the Flamingo bridge.Down the escalator and onto Caesars property.
If you did It in 20 minutes it would be fast.30 to the conference center is reasonable.

Earlier posters are correct in that you can probably get an upgraded nicer room at Vdara but the travel time and inconvenience is not worth it in my opinion.

Having attended many meetings in Las Vegas, the host hotel is typically where everyone gathers after the meeting.
The Palace Tower rooms are nice enough.I would stay there.

+1 on this one.... Caesars Palace Towers would be the best choice (for your conference)

I like the cab idea too, if you prefer Vdara... I didn't propose it cause most here on the board seem to feel like stepping foot inside a Vegas cab is akin to stepping foot in hell!

But why would you want to spend money on a cab back and forth to brush your teeth after lunch? I would stay in the Palace tower at Caesars.

Thanks for all the replies. It seems like there's no outright choice haha. I picked Vdara initially because of the larger room, kitchenette (although not a huge selling point now given me finding out there isn't much in the rooms to cook with), and washer/dryer. The main selling point of Vdara is my mother-in-law will be coming later on with my wife and Vdara gives us separate living space. Not really by choice my mother-in-law comes, but my wife won't fly by herself and she can't come out at the same time as me. If this helps with any decisions, I'll be in Vegas for a week, but the conference is only 4 days. For people saying take a taxi, I will have a rental car, but I believe Vdara is valet only so by the time I get my vehicle and drive, I might as well have walked to Caesar's haha.

I think for now, I'll stay put as it seems Vdara isn't quite as far as I was thinking and there are food options closer than I was thinking as well.

The Palace Tower is located extremely convenient to the Conference Center. They share escalators and is the most convenient room to conference center I have ever stayed. I would reconsider if I were you! The rooms are large and nice amenities. Just my two cents!

Since it's a business trip I think you are making the right choice. If it was a personal trip I would suggest Vdara. Just a note for future trips - the Executive Corner Suites at Vdara do have a full kitchen including a working oven, microwave, full size refrigerator etc. if you would like to cook on a future trip. . Housekeeping will supply all of the pans, dishes, cutlery etc that you would need).

If you're going to have a car, then Vdara for sure.

Easy in and out of that valet, and easy walk back to Vdara if you drink to much @ Caesars :)

The walk back and forth from Caesars to the Vdara is not anything casual. If you want to take a break in between your conference you might as well book at Caesars. Now as far as the food issue, if you are at Vdara there are plenty of places to eat at Aria, as well as Planet Hollywood right across the street. I believe there is even a CVS right next to Planet Hollywood that you can get snacks from. There is also a tram you could take directly from the Vdara to the Bellagio if you wanted to access food quickly. Food isn't really an issue because you are in close proximity to everything at that hotel.

Distance from your conference and wanting to lay down for a moment is another issue. Long story short, you should just make it easy and convenient upon yourself and book at Caesars. You'll be glad you did.

Vdara is not too bad a walk to Ceasars, but after being at a convention all day, that little walk could end up looking like quite a hike. Vdara connects to Bellagio via a covered walkway, in the back...no need to take the tram. Once in Bellagio, cut through the casino, through the hall of uber shops, out the revolving doors to the pedestrian bridge, which brings you to the corner where the Absinthe tent and Serendipity 3 are...you are now at Ceasars.
