My wife and I just booked a three night stay at Paradise Stream Resort in the Poconos. My parents took their honeymoon in the Poconos, but I've never visited the area myself. It's supposed to be really nice for couples and I noticed that Mount Airy Casino is nearby, so we can get a little gambling in while we are there. Has anyone here visited the Poconos or Paradise Stream Resort specifically? Any tips to get the most out of our vacation?

Warning! Don't go until they catch the guy who ambushed the State Trooper. There is a massive manhunt going on right now and residents are being asked to evacuate some area.

We stayed there last year or the year before. The entertainment was very good. We saw a comedy show and the Bridesmaids band. Coincidentally, the same band is playing Harrah's in AC tonight. Bingo was fun (I won the coverall). The couples games were fun. We sucked at them and came in last place every game but we had a blast doing them. Not many people turn out for the games. There is a shuttle van to take you to the casino. Something was a bit off with the casino and we were less than thrilled with it but it's ok. The Apple room with the pool is great. Not to break into the too much information part of town, but the pools is amazing for intimacy. It's just the right temperature and just the right depth. It's awesome.

I see that they have an inclusive with food and separate rate without food. We first went to the Poconos 14 years ago and the food was better then. The food is ok now but the non-food option is viable.

They should catch him before we are scheduled to go (at least I hope so because it's a little ways out). I don't know what it is about vacation areas that brings out the crazies.

I camped in that area many times in my younger days, around Canadensis and Promised Land State Park. Some very wild country.
