Four Queens has rolled out a new comp dollar system - presume it is similar to what they already use at Binions. My host told me they were going to do this but what he didn't discuss is... what will hosts be able to comp if food and room comps are going to be based directly on your points??

Golden Nugget has changed their system so that you don't get cashback anymore from the slot club - instead you accrue (Jimmy Poon's word) - you accrue freeplay dollars on your card at a measly .1% rate (compare to Four Queens .3125% cashback rate.)

It looks like the FQ comp rate is 0.625%

I'm worried about what will happen with our offers under this new system at the Four Queens.

Probably will not be a good thing is my guess. Offers are still good I was told.

I don't know Flusher but it looks the same to me. We've been getting cash back for a long time there so that's not new. On the picture it says you can get other benefits based on play (tournaments, rooms, free slot play) so that may stay the same too. I've been hearing about this new player's club system but how is it different than before? It's almost like they're just pointing out the fact that you can use your cash back for meals and rooms (if your play doesn't warrant comp offers). It will be interesting to see if the mailers change. I'd bet they won't.

Hey Flusher, I've been doing a little more thinking on this. Their old system used to give cash back of $15 for every 600 points which works out to the same as what they are offering now - $1 for every 40 points. What is different now (I believe) is that they are giving comp dollars as well. When I look back to the points we earned last trip, we would have earned $141 comp dollars. That would easily pay for our room for our upcoming three nights but only leave about $20 left for food. (Fine for us because we only have a couple meals there...but certainly not comparable to the free food for all days offer we got last time.)

Our cash back from last trip's play amounted to about $60 which is still short from the $80 our mailer offered.

I guess if they are keeping everything equal, they may reduce the amount on their mailers somewhat. I'm hoping they are now offering comp dollars to encourage all guests to either stay there or eat there so that more time is spent in their casino. We all know that (generally speaking) more time in the casino means more profits for the 4 Queen's.

It will be interesting to see how it all pans out. I have to say though, that 4Q offers seem entirely random to me. We can low play one trip and then be offered $200 FP and food or we can play a lot there and the follow up offer will be $80 FP only. It's never made much sense to me.

This is exactly the same as the Binions program, where I play a lot with the DW. We really like this program. We play a mix of slots and VP at Binions, maybe 1/3 slots, 2/3 VP. Binions has the motherlode spin to win kiosk as well, I hope Four Queens does as well. We score lots of other goodies everyday. Free play, food credit, promo chips for tables, and free gifts. Give me all of this instead of worrying about getting a $40 shabby room at the Four Queeens comped. I will not put myself in that noose where I have to play hours and hours every day to get a comped room.

Last trip we took, I remember I was just shy of getting $200 cash back, so I guess I earned around 8000 points, I really have no clue what my coin in is. On top of that, is the comp dollars earned, which usually turns into a couple of dinners at the Top of the Binions Steakhouse for us. I get offers for Rooms at Four Queens regulary, 3 nights with Freeplay(the amount varies). DW doesn't play as hard as I do, she earns about half the comps.

So I wouldn't worry too much about future offers, if they model it the same as Binions.

Thanks Oxygenator, that bodes well for the free play offers. If I keep getting the $200 or $300 free play offers with room and food at Four Queens, I have no idea what I would use the comp dollars for. Gift shop smokes to sell on the street or a case of bitters or something I guess.

The slot program is the almost the same as Binions, that is true, but Binions doesn't have room offers with freeplay and meals comped up front in addition to the other benefits, like Four Queens does. I don't see how it can be said "don't worry about the future offers" from Four Queens. Nothing has been said here that removes the concern. I am not saying the offers will stink, but you would think something has to change. I have a question in to a contact at 4Q that might tell me what changes are ahead.

I didn't make it clear enough I guess. Binions does have Room offers with freeplay and meals. I get a mailer all the time from them, your room is at Four Queens though. They pretty much are the same ones many others here on VMB recieve for Four Queens. This is in addition to the seperate mailer I get from Four Queens, but my offers are not as attractive because I play there less.

Looks good to me. 5k coin in on video poker = more than 30 bucks worth of comps. Nothing wrong with that.

I have to believe that future offers will have comparable amounts of free-play and free nights, but with little food comped up front, except for the real high-rollers. Then you could either pay with your points as you go or charge the food to your room and use your comps when you check out. If the comp account can be accumulated over multiple trips, that actually works well for me. My offers used to include one dinner at Hugo's, but they don't anymore. Now if I can accumulate them over trips, I'll probably have enough left on my comp account to have dinner there at least once every other trip.

I emailed a host there and got a reply. If you have offers for Sept/October, they will be honored. They are not yet sure what the offers for November/December will be. She said they would include the free nights, food, and free slot play, but did not know the amounts. I still would not be surprised to see no food amount, or maybe a limited amount - say $25 for the trip - then you'd use your comp account for the rest.

You can either swipe your card at the point of sale, or you can charge them to the room and use your comp account to pay for the room charges when you check out. Comps can be accumulated across trips, as long as their is no inactivity for 12 months.

For those of us "lucky" enough to get the over-55 discount on food at Magnolia's and Hugo's, there is a sign in Magnolia's that says that no other discounts are valid with comps. I take that to mean that if I want to get the 20% geezer discount, I'll have to pay cash. That's OK - I can use my discount and pay cash for Magnolia's and save my comp account for dinner at Hugo's.

Since the old food limits were really set for 2 people and since I generally travel solo, I never came close to my limits before. I actually think this new system will be a big win for me.

    To Four Queens gurus:
If I have $1,000 coin in on reel slots , what kind of comps and future offers I might get from four queens? Thanks in advance!

If you did that on one day, you might get discounted or BOGO room offers.

$3K to $4K will get you free room offers and some freeplay.

Thank you for the information, but the decimal points are bothering me. I think the actual rates would be 0.1% for GN, and 0.3125 + 0.625% for 4Q.

    Sorry for the nitpick.

Sorry the numbers above are not correct. Golden nugget is 0.1% or 1/10th of a percent. Four queens is 0.315% and 0.625% for comps.

I know Binion's is owned by 4Q. WHy don't they just use one player's card, or maybe they do? Do your points at one add into points at the other?

Right now they don't but with the new system I bet they could and probably will head in that direction.
