I've got a couple of MSS specific questions. It's been awhile since I stayed there but I am really looking forward to some VP and beer!

I have 2 $15 food offers to be used in conjunction with a room offer. Will I be able to use both of them if I am only using 2 nights of a 3 night offer?

Do you still have to pick those food tickets up at the B Connected desk? I won't be arriving until close to 11PM on a Friday & I was hoping to have a late dinner in 777 (or elsewhere if there is a better option) and use one of them. Will the desk still be open?

Do they do the beer samplers at the Boar's Head Bar? I have a habit of going straight to the Porter and not trying the others, so I thought that might be an option. If they do, will they comp it while I play? Otherwise I will be 'forced' to order one of each and I tend to be a lightweight on my travel day :)

I'm not much of a buffet person, but I am considering trying the Prime Rib Buffet. Is that a good choice, or should I stick with 777 or something at Cali? It sounds ridiculous, but I find it tough to spend the whole $15 at one meal when I am solo....

I called in a couple of room requests. DO you think I am likely to get them fulfilled arriving so late on Friday of a holiday weekend?

Okay, I think that's it for now. Just trying to set my expectations appropriately for what is going to be a fabulous trip! Thanks in advance!

Yes, you should be able to use both of your food offers.

The BConnected desk is open until at least midnight on Fridays.

Boar's Head will comp your beers while you play - so instead of having a sampler, just have a pint of each!
Seriously though, I don't think they offer the beer sampler at Boar's Head. But if there is a beer or two you just want to taste, a friendly bartender will likely pour you just a little of a particular beer; especially if you tip appropriately while playing.

If you want prime rib, I would go with the prime rib special at the Market St Cafe in The Cal. That said, I am a fan of the MSS buffet. So you probably can't go wrong either way.
They have prime rib at 777 too, but I haven't tried it.

I've never seen them poor samplers at Boar's Head. Jimbo has it right, just ask for a couple shot glasses full if you want to try something before ordering a pint. They will comp you while you play, they're usually happy pouring me 2 drinks at a time.

The buffet IMO is nothing special. If you want prime rib you're probably better off ordering it at the Cal, it's like 10-12 bucks on special.

Don't count on getting your room requests honored anywhere when you do a late check in Friday night.

Thanks so much! Glad to hear the BConnected Desk will be open if I get in on time.

Maybe I'll do a beer flight in the 777 instead of the Boars Head when I grab dinner. Then at Boars Head I will know exactly what I want :)

Thanks for the Market Street Café suggestion. I just might try that!

Yeah, I won't hold my breath to get my requests. Mostly hoping for a quiet room as I am a light sleeper.

Why do I still get so crazy excited the last 2 weeks before a trip? Geez, you would think it was my first time!

I understand the 2 week excitement, I'm in the middle of it too!

I've had the beer flight, it's worth going through it without getting too drunk or committing to a beer that you may not fancy.

Another place worth trying a beer flight downtown is Banger Brewing. Although you wouldn't go wrong with just ordering the El Jefe either.

Have a great time at MSS. I'll be checking in on the 27th. I'll try not to completely clean out the casino before you get there :evillaugh

You should have MSS note it on your reservation that you are coming in late. Hopefully they may be able to accommodate your other requests but no guarantees late Friday night. At least you have it noted on your reservation so you have a chance that it will be granted. If you didn't ask prior to check in you probably would have very little chance of getting your requests late Friday night but if your request is on your reservation then at least you asked before arrival.

As for the prime rib buffet, the prime rib is okay, not great but I like all the other items they serve at the buffet, including Chinese dishes, desserts, pizza's, Mexican items, soup and other items. Since you have a $15 voucher your dinner is covered (except maybe the tip) so you can "pig out" if you want. :evillaugh

I did call and the very nice woman added my requests to the reservation. I will keep my fingers crossed, but I probably have a better chance of hitting a royal than getting my requests met late Friday of a holiday weekend :) If my room is too noisy, I'll just stay up all night trying for that royal!

    I want to leave now........

Best of luck. At least you asked, worst case is they would just turn you down.

we all want to leave for vegas now. Not sure when I'm going though.
